What phantom pain should actually be called: #vrchat #furry
Комментарии: 44

It's the same thing as people trying to fetishize mental illnesses that they aren't even diagnosed with and pretending to have disorders. It's a cry for attention.

Genuinely.

Funny thing about that alergy person one of my friends knew them and just unfriended them after that whole situation. Also got dayum you are good at balancing

7 years of practice!

This is my first time seeing an amputated furry oc, actually looks hella sick... Sorry for your loss though

It’s fine haha, glad to be the first :)

Bandit. Serious question but when you are dealing with Phantom Pain. Does being in VR Chat showing both legs help with that. This is a topic that has always interested me because of the Mirror Effect.

Opposite of intended effect my brain gets tricked into thinking it’s grown back and I lose balance A LOT easier. I have tried the mirror and VR therapies though. Sadly none have came to a fruitful experience

That is Crazy!!

SOMEONE FINALLY FUCKING SAID IT

Sounds like hell to deal with. Sorry to hear that you deal with actual Phantom Pain Big Boss.

I actually love the game so I love seeing him in the replies unironically 🤣

I love Metal Gear, glad you love it too.

As someone who does experience psychosematic pain linked to DID [complicated source memory soup], it annoys me too when these people call it "phantom pain". That's not the term. The term is right there and nobody ever uses it. It's called psychosematic pain.

am sorry :(

"Oh I'm in VR and getting phantom pain" no you're not fr fr

I think the proper word for what they're "experiencing" is Psychogenic pain, which is somewhat similar but instead of being caused by nerve issues it's caused by psychological responses

that game attracts a lot of mentally ill people or losers who have nothing going on IRL and use fake disabilities to make themselves feel more important than they are, its pretty sad.

Wait a minute. THEY TOOK YOUR LEG?!

Yes

Huh. The more you know..

This fake phantom pain phenomenon that has been spreading around VRChat reminds me of that one “I am Weasel” episode with the phantom foot. xD

P-Phantom...... P-Pain?!?!?!?!??!

at this point if I find anyone saying they have phantom pain in vr I repeatedly walk through them cuz its entertaining lol

I’ll definitely say with phantom sense is real but the extent that some people say they feel is absolutely delusional. Phantom pain in vr is a joke , hell there is some one that claims they have phantom allergies XD.

Phantom sense in VR is real. Pain, I don't think exists in VR - only the standard definition fits there.

The allergy one makes me quite angry cause I'm allergic to literally everything from grass to shellfish Like vro there is no phantom pain with allergies if your throat feels like it's closing it's probably closing

Something else I consider phantom pain: The body *can* activate pain sensors while you sleep to mimic what's happening in a dream, and it does feel super real, but if you're experiencing that while playing VR and you don't have a pain disorder, you should go to a specialist.

The only furry that Proximity Chat would respect🫡

@UserFound_false I actually would love to chat with him hahaha

It's really frustrating for me as well, having neuropathy and trying to talk about the sudden pains/"phantom pains" I've had people say it's not real. I just look at them and say "well no shit, but tell that to my fuckin nerves. Because I don't think they dont the message."

About fuckin time this shit gets addressed properly.

First time I heard about it, VR Phantom Pain always sounded super dumb to me. It just has the same energy as people self-diagonosing themselves with every mental illness, then they get pissy WITH YOU for not feeding into it. We're adults c'mon be fr unrelated image below

I get that your brain can be tricked to thinking something you're seeing is real and get a 'phantom sense' experience, but 'phantom pain' in vrchat for somebody walking through you is just attention seeking

All things considered, very well spoken and informative. I think the VR "phantom pain" stuff is really just a sign that the person needs to disconnect from VR for a while cause their brains are blurring VR with actual reality and it's messing with them badly

This is the reason why I stay off of vrc for a good while every now and then and go on a non vr game instead

When trying to explain phantom phone vibrations. I could see this being an anticipated reaction, I've never really put into perspective like this. What a concept!

When I found out people fake tics or use videos to try and "induce" themselves into having a tic condition for content I think confusion and shock were the biggest things I felt. I didn't even know about these VR things and sorry it's undermining your phantom pain and struggles!

I feel like there should be a new name for it, because I have to imagine what it would feel like while seeing it happen in order for it to work for me. What do you think is a better name for it? I feel like just calling it "fantasy sense" because I gotta imagine it works best.

I agree. Someone said VR Sense and that’s kinda spot on for what it is LMAO

How do you feel about people who use fantasy sense? Not the "I HAVE IT!!" people but those who *use* it Whether it be imagining how headpats feel (because you're being headpat in VR) or the taste/smell of grilled cheese (because someones avi has one)

WOAHHHHOOOOOOOO

I know I don't actually have a place to speak on it but it really pisses me off when someone says "I have phantom pain" and they're talking about VRC And then I get yelled at for being 'insensitive to a condition'

Good points. And I could listen to the sound of your voice all day. 😌
