In this post Jenrick is claiming Badenoch’s inheritance tax plan is a massive insult to “GB News viewers.” He’s trying to pretend one specific TV audience speaks for the whole country, that’s not right. Jenrick wants you to think Farages personal TV channel is a massive, unbeatable electoral bloc. It’s not. He’s acting like a channel with a 5.4m digital reach is the gatekeeper of the British electorate. It isn’t. He’s completely missing the point. Badenoch wasn’t pitching to one media bubble. She was looking at a much more important number: the 19.4 million registered voters who didn’t show up at the last election. That’s where the next majority is won. Reform seems to think politics is just a game of trading the same voters back and forth with the Tories🙄 Winning requires mobilising those 19 million politically homeless people who stayed home. Badenoch hasn’t forgotten those voters and she was addressing them today just as much as you and me. Jenrick’s fixation on one TV channel shows just how small his strategy is.
