To the americans that are confused, the point of prison is rehabilitation. If you don't treat inmates like people, don't be surprised when they don't act like people when they get out.

The Norwegian countries know how to treat people and their recidivism is really low because they have cracked the code on how to heal someone's soul and make them productive. Members of society. Old school punishment doesn't really work on people, it just makes them worse.
