That's the incredible female blanket octopus, and her main survival tool is one of the most ingenious and hardcore things in the entire ocean. She is immune to the deadly sting of the Portuguese Man o' War. Not only that, she will actively rip the stinging tentacles off the Man o' War and wield them like venomous whips to defend herself from predators. A brilliant and terrifying feat of natural engineering.

Blanket octopuses are a group of cephalopods known for their dramatic sexual dimorphism and unique defensive mechanisms. Females are giants, reaching over six feet long, while males are tiny, about an inch long, and resemble larval octopuses.

Blanket octopuses are immune to the venom of the Portuguese man o' war, using its tentacles as weapons. Females can be 40,000 times heavier than males, and they display bioluminescence for communication and camouflage in deep waters.
