Imbue Studio is a new kind of personal computer. Make durable personal tools and shape them just by telling Studio what you want. Share easily, use immediately across devices, and build together with others. Join the waitlist for early access:

Create from any service you already use. For example, turn your calendar, Slack, and email into a todo list that stays up to date. Studio makes durable tools with tests that keep working over time, rather than disposable vibe-coded demos.

We think personal software should be social. Share a tool as easily as sharing a Google Doc. Or share an entire Studio to build and edit with others in real time.

My favorite feature: Make desktop apps by literally DRAGGING your creations out of Studio ‼️

Everything you make works across devices. Use your tools on your phone, ask Studio to do things while you’re on-the-go, or even make it your phone home screen. I now use mine instead of my normal home screen 😎

Switch between any AI subscription like Claude, GPT, and open models, even mid-conversation, while keeping your context. You shouldn’t have to organize your digital life around one AI provider.

Personal software should be deeply malleable. Studio lets you change BASICALLY ANYTHING. Since it can access its own source code, it can fully modify itself. Easily add any new features you can imagine, like keyboard shortcuts and automations. Or make your own avatars & themes.

But the most important thing about Studio isn’t any individual feature. We believe your tools should work for you, not the company that built them (including us!) So Studio is built to remain under your control: • end-to-end encrypted • run it locally anytime • no lock-in • open source under FSL • switch AI providers • export your work and take it with you

We’ve already seen people make things we never would have imagined: • custom email, Slack, and todo apps of every shape • a recruiting CRM presented as a garden • a foodie map for tracking Instagram spots with friends We can't wait to see what you do with it!

We’re hiring! Studio was built by a small mighty team of 6, with support from the rest of Imbue. We’re looking for highly effective people passionate about building a future of personal computing that truly serves humans.

I actually think this is the future of personal computing which sounds so aspirational. But after using it I feel like this is like what ChatGPT did for LLMs.

I've been throwing all my random ideas at Studio at it's really cool to see them come to life!

I just got here like five minutes ago, but I can promise you, we all really care about building tools that are fun, useful and sincere. Studio is personal software for you, and it's personal to us as well. Let's build it together!

yes, exactly — thanks Patrick! for folks who've been using it it's almost like early internet days, sharing small software with small groups of people

If it can change itself, seems like a security problem, so hopefully you have a separate VM for all these little applications, but even if you did that, it doesn't really scale. Guessing you have filters on the prompts + checks on outputs, which isn't perfect. Amorphous idea ;-)

love the focus on using AI to enhance collaborations with other people... feels like (somehow??) a missing design principle in so many products recently

Omg I had this idea! I assume claude will add this in an upcoming release though.

Kanjun 🐙's profile picture

I doubt it! It requires them to make a lot of tradeoffs that I suspect they don't want to make, like 1) letting the user switch to ChatGPT mid-chat 2) letting the user change anything on their cloud computer

the 'durable' in durable personal tools is doing all the work. most agent outputs evaporate when the chat closes. a personal computer where tools persist — where yesterday's automation is still there tomorrow — is what turns agents from demos into infrastructure.
