FROM INBOX | This morning at 7:15, I was a$$aulted by a City of Harare traffic officer. The incident began around 7:05 when two officers approached me as I was parking in a bay. They claimed that one of my car tyres had stepped on a white line. When I asked for a moment to park properly, one officer jumped into the back of my car, while the other clamped it and then also got into the vehicle. They demanded that I drive to their Coventry Road office but then began pressuring me for money, implying that if I didn't give them something, I would be charged $98 once they took the car in. I explained that I didn't have any money, but they continued to threa+en me. I started recording the conversation on my phone, took out $20, and as they were stepping out, I told them I had recorded everything. One officer immediately rushed off, and the other followed. When I demanded my money back, one of them attempted to flee and then śtruck me on the chin with a baton stick and a clenched fist before running away. I sustained a cut on my chin and it’s swollen. I have reported the incident to the police.

The suspect was fighting with the Trooper and then fled on foot across the freeway to the westbound lanes, where he got in the passenger side of another vehicle. The vehicle was last seen in the area of I-94 and Broadway.

DALLAS - A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder and robbery Thursday after allegedly carjacking a vehicle and crashing into a pedestrian in East Dallas, police said. Tyrell Jones, 25, was arrested after being treated at a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. According to Dallas police, Jones was booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges of murder and robbery. No bond has been set. The Dallas PD arrest affidavit for Jones was released the FOX 4 Friday afternoon. According to the document, witnesses saw Jones appear to be intoxicated on unknown drugs before shoving a victim out of her car, speeding off and hitting another vehicle down the block. The document says Jones first tried to get into the carjacking victim's car several times before falling and appearing hurt, at which point she stopped and got out to check on him. He ran at her again, the document says, and she got back in the car to try to drive away. He then jumped through her window, the document says, pushed her out, and sped off. Other witnesses then saw the stolen car crash into another vehicle stopped at a stop sign, pushing both cars through the intersection and onto the sidewalk. That crash struck a pedestrian, identified as Jose Avila, who ended up pinned between the cars and a tree. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Gina Carpio witnessed the carjacking take place, and spoke with FOX 4 Friday to describe the scene. Carpio said the victim of the carjacking was screaming for help and honking her horn when Jones jumped into her car. "She tries to get out of the car, pushes the door open, then I think he kicked her in the stomach, got in her car and drove," Carpio said. "And I mean, it was the craziest drive you've ever seen. Her and I were standing here hoping he didn't hit anybody." Another witness who lives across from the scene of the crash was emotional when considering the senseless loss of life.

I just witnessed something that should remind every driver of one simple truth: your ego isn’t worth your life. I watched a beautifully restored Chevelle get cut off. I don’t know what started it, and I’m not going to pretend I do. What I do know is this. One man got out of his vehicle carrying a bat and appeared to jab the other driver with it. The man in the Chevelle didn’t stand there trying to prove how tough he was. He got back in his car and drove away. Sometimes the strongest person is the one who refuses to let a moment of anger become a lifetime of regret. Cars can be repaired. Pride can recover. He then proceeds to kick the vehicle and challenge the driver to a brawl. The driver gets out for a minute and has words with the attacker before getting back into his vehicle to drive off. The man then steps in front of the vehicle as the driver floors it, giving him a ride on the hood of his car for the length of the parking lot. Play stupid games……
