What started off as a joke turned into something neither party would have wanted to escalate. But what’s becoming frustrating is how every situation involving Oyin seems to automatically end with her being labelled the bad guy, sometimes without even considering how the argument started. I’ll only clarify this... once and keep it moving. Oyin was joking, and it was a type of joke that has gone around the house before. There was no malicious intent from her side. And one thing that should always be considered is family. You don’t involve someone’s family, especially the family they hold dear, unless the intention is to hurt them deeply. But it’s also unfair to completely push the blame on Oyin simply because of the perception people already have of her. Oyin is not perfect. She can make mistakes and be held accountable when she does. But accountability should come from the full context, not from a predetermined idea that she must always be the villain.
