What tattoo needles look like up close

Ink-slinging magic wands, one prick at a time.

This is fascinating indeed

Didn’t expect them to look like mini paintbrushes—super cool detail!

Why it disturbing like that

They are configured into different needle groupings, ranging from single needles for delicate detail work to larger configurations for shading and coloring. A single needle, often used for outlining, is as thin as a human hair, allowing for precise, controlled ink deposition into the skin’s dermal layer, which is crucial for a permanent tattoo. The needle itself is barbed or slotted in most cases, which helps hold the ink as it's injected into the skin. Of great importance is their careful use to avoid excessive trauma to the skin or surrounding tissues. Inserting the needle too deep can cause scarring or infection, while insufficient depth might result in a tattoo that fades quickly. The needle is often disposed of after a single use to prevent the risk of cross-contamination or infection.

This is why i'll never get a tattoo.

Looks like the tool of the trade for the ink-stained wretches 🤘

Cool to see it up close and slow mo
