What the crap is an auto theft prevention fee???

There are so many fees in Colorado government now that the legislature is working on the establishment of a new fee to provide funds to administer all of the fees. It’s called a Fee Fee.

It’s a $10 per year extra charge on my car insurance policy. It’s because people can steal a car and get away with it in Colorado. No consequences. And WE ALL get to pay for the clean up. Aren’t you glad Phil WEISER will be our next Governor who implements these policies in Colorado. YAY for the Criminals🙌🏼🙌🏼

I bet money is taken from law enforcement or from these fees and diverted to some other program not associated with legal citizens in this state. Of course local media will again miss reporting on this. They missed it before it was passed.

“Public Awareness” and “Grant programs” - how come I don’t think that has anything to do with auto theft prevention? Money for advertising NGOs - “Don’t own a car, ride a bike! Bike losses are smaller!” “If you took the train, your car wouldn’t have been stolen downtown! Support the CoCo Train!”

Colorado temporarily neutered the left with TABOR. They have been attempting to circumvent the bill ever since. They finally settled on "fees". A court somewhere decided fees were not "taxes". Now we are the "fee state" continuously under assault by the commies.

There needs to be a complete audit of every fee the once great state of Colorado charges. I would like to see exactly where each fee is used and distributed. I would be very surprised if any of these fees go where intended and whether it's truley needed,

This ain't no joke, Denver has a huge car theft problem I guess, i blame the influx of illegal cartel gangs and a education that preys on the youth more than they educate the youth. Sooo, that fee is the warning that soon it'll be the crime to have one's car stolen w severe jail time plus probable life expectancy cut in half due to the collateral damage from the criminal record one will recieve, all because "we just don't get it" it's true.

Confiscatory tax to circumvent TABOR just like all the fees in Colorado. Missouri is ditching their state sales tax. Florida maybe property tax as well as Arkansas. Colorado? Trying to get a Mamdani "tax the rich" scam on the ballot.

Doesn’t seem to be working. Also when a California city cracked down on car theft and breaking (if I remember correctly) it cause a big economic problem for local economy starting with car repair shops. That’s how bad this shit gets.
