Those are wild boars. They're a HUGE problem throughout the American southwest. When domesticated pigs escape, they sort of "mutate" into wild hogs that will destroy huge swaths of the environment. They destroy crops, compete for resources with other local animals, and cause general havoc. There are groups which literally hunt these things from helicopter to try and keep the numbers down. They breed so quickly that you never manage to do enough damage.
