Went from dead last to a playoff spot. Had a nice group of rookies come in together and give us hope. Had solid vets in Bozak, JVR and Naz. No contract drama, no entitlement. They gave us everything in that WSH series. It was magic.

If someone told me after the 2017 playoffs, the leafs would add the most coveted free agent of all time, the young rookies would develop in to elite nhl players, and that leafs core would only win 2 playoff series in 10 years, I would have laughed in their face

I still feel like leafs rushed it and forced the rebuild too soon. My reasons are Babcock not a good choice We barely made it in 2017 why not just tank for a top 10 pick again and take our time 2018 we could have tanked again before we signed JT >>>>>>
