TOTAL ALL-STAR MADNESS: Tuesday at 1am, I saw the underbelly of downtown Seattle just one block from City Hall . It's also a 10 minute walk to T-Mobile Park(T-Mobile Park) where the Major League Baseball All-Star Game(MLB) will be played tonight. Tourists should AVOID 3rd Ave & Cherry St at all costs. This one stretch has turned into a full blown hang out for drug addicts and attracts all kinds illicit activity at all hours of the day. As I have reported all year, a lot of these men and women stay at the Downtown Emergency Service Center(DESC) Lyon Building and Morrison. These facilities serve the homeless and mentally ill. The city regularly sweeps the tents and sprays down the area. But it always comes roaring back. During my 15 minute walk down this stretch, here's what happened: -Dude flashed his penis -Chased by a man wielding nunchucks -People yelling at me -I ran to a nearby hotel for help but the guests ran inside and left me to fend for myself Thankfully, I found two Seattle Police officers. I filed a complaint against the man wielding the weapon. No idea if he was arrested. Point is, good luck if you accidentally stumble into this part of the city. BTW, this is Councilmember Andrew Lewis'(Andrew J. Lewis, Councilmember Andrew J. Lewis) district. He is well aware of what is going on here since I have brought it to his attention multiple times. From sitting 80 T83 with a torn UCL to 87-90 and pain-free in 1.5 years, a coach's post from @jjasonfosterr🔥⁠ ⁠ I started working with Max Moore in the summer of ‘22. At the time, he was a HS senior topping out at 83 with consistent elbow issues. In May of his junior year, he partially tore his UCL and was told by doctors it would heal with rest.⁠ ⁠ After going through a shutdown and rehab phase on his own, we were able to run it up to 86 his senior year, although the elbow was a constant issue.⁠ ⁠ He went back to a different doctor, found out his UCL was still torn, and decided to get full TJ in March of ‘23.⁠ ⁠ During the rehab process, Max made significant progress both physically and mentally. His body weight went from 170 to 190 with the following increases in the weight room:⁠ ⁠ DB Bench 5RM: 60 —> 85⁠ Deadlift 1RM: 295 —> 375⁠ DB Row 8RM: 65 —> 100⁠ ⁠ Max also went through months of what I like to call “the velo yips,” something plenty of guys coming off injury experience. It didn’t matter if his prescribed throwing intensity was 50% or 100%, it all looked like 50%. It felt like max effort to him but there was clearly a mental block there. ⁠ ⁠ Why does this happen? Plenty of reasons - internal pressure, trauma associated with the pain/injury, thousands of social media experts pushing their agendas all day, watching YouTube videos all hours of the night trying to figure out “what’s wrong with me,” but that’s a post for another day.⁠ ⁠ After countless conversations with Max and experimentation within his throwing schedule, we finally decided it was time to get back to playing baseball. Stop worrying about hitting certain metrics in the weight room, stop worrying about rehabbing a healthy arm, and stop trying to “figure out” a made-up problem (yips aren’t real 🤷‍♂️). Go pitch and we’ll see what happens.⁠ ⁠ Max proceeded to hit 89 multiple times in his first outing back, followed by multiple 90s the week after. The best part is seeing how his teammates reacted, knowing how tough this dude is and how much he’s had to push through to get to this point.⁠ ⁠ Foot on the gas, only up from here 🚀⁠ ⁠ -Jason

This 15U coach goes crazy over a call that ended up tying the game with 2 outs. Another day, another baseball game and another coach losing his mind. 🤦‍♂️ It’s the bottom of the last inning, there’s two outs and runners on first and second base. The pitcher throws a wild pitch. The ball skips away and bounces off a bat the umpire said. If it hit an on deck bat near the dugout, it is a dead ball and the runners advance. You can’t see the play and the coach argues that it hit the dugout pole and not a bat. (Guess he had a better angle from the third base dugout).😳 The umpires meet and at first they tell the runners to go back to where they were. But they continue talking and then say the runners advance. 🤯 The coach was ejected. 💯 The game ended in a tie when a play at the plate on another wild pitch but the runner being called out at home. This was the beginning of a tournament and you can hear one of the parents tell the coach to calm down as they have the rest of the tournament ahead. Not sure what gets into these coaches but no amount of arguing is changing a call. Let it go and just let the young men play. Do you think something needs to be done about these coaches and the way they are acting and the words spewing out of their mouths? Doesn’t it seem like it is a daily occurrence now?

Here's Pete Carroll in his endless wisdom with an AMAZING take on how to handle your haters, overcome adversity and manage self doubt on the journey to your own personal greatness: "They didn't know how great he was... maybe they don't know how great I can be either." In one of the lowest moments of his coaching career, Pete Carroll couldn't sleep. He'd taken a risk becoming the New England Patriots head coach knowing the massive expectations would be hard to match and it wasn't trending the right direction in his 3rd season at the helm. He feared his young career as a head coach may already be over. At 3 a.m. that sleepless night, he turned on the TV and happened to catch a movie about Babe Ruth... In the scene, Boston fans relentlessly booed Ruth after he had been traded to the Yankees. It's in that moment, watching a fanbase annihilate the greatest baseball player of all time, in which Coach Carroll credits gaining a perspective that changed the remainder of his coaching career: "They didn't know how great he was... maybe they don't know how great I can be either." He made a promise to himself going forward, regardless of where he coached, that instead of changing who he was to satisfy the critics, he would double down on the standards, beliefs, and culture he believed would help his team succeed. I had coached Sunghoonie for five years during his time as a figure skating athlete. Back then, he was very shy and introverted, but in sports he was extremely hardworking, a quiet yet relentless “tough” worker. When I asked him during his time balancing figure skating and idol trainee life whether it was difficult, he would always say he was so happy he didn’t even feel the hardship. That teenage boy has now grown into a remarkable idol and singer who tours the world. His once-introverted personality seems to have disappeared, as he now captivates audiences and communicates with fans so naturally, making me think about how much effort he must have put in over the years. It surely was not easy given his personality, but rather than feeling proud or simply impressed, I found him admirable, remarkable, and truly worthy of respect. I am going to weigh in on Terrance Howard since I am continually being tagged in his videos. The things he talks about with the periodic table is ancient alchemy. I believe in what he’s saying. A lot of scientists do not and I’ll explain why. Imagine you have went your whole life learning science. You have invested every ounce of your being into it. It’s your career. It’s your livelihood. It’s your life. Now imagine someone comes to you one day and says that you are wrong about everything you’ve learned and practiced. You’re gonna get upset. You’re gonna be defensive. That is what’s happening to the scientific community when commenting on these videos. When it comes to what Terrance is teaching, it’s all lessons founded in culture by unaccredited scientists. Its telling current scientists that they are wrong. I know the pushback all too well. Terrance is teaching that the control over this dimensions and the opposite dimension is the medium, it’s the aether. The opposite dimension to a physical dimension is non physical. The medium between the two is the only thing that can interact with both. The catalyst between the two. The “negative space” as Terrance calls it. It’s the aether. It’s exactly how gravity works. Let me preface this post with some evidence of the "respect" I have had for the Texas Tech baseball program. That program has always had a "West Texas" wild & craziness/EDGE, that, TBH, I've been jealous of at times. Don't believe those words, see for yourself where at least this 1 person is coming from. I've had the opportunity to interview multiple former Red Raiders who are still playing/pitching professional baseball. Clayton Beeter Ryan Sublette Also, Kyle Robinson is still one of my favorite pitchers I've EVER watched pitch at O'Brate, and I've communicated with him, even since he's been a pro, when he was playing in Tulsa last June with Midland at the AA level. And, Matt Gardner, the former Texas Tech pitching coach, pitched at OSU, and Geoff Haxton, your PxP, grew up in Stillwater, and we are personal friends. So, I respect Tech and enjoy the rivalry. NOW, let's get into the "Nuts & Bolts." There's a difference between playing with an edge and being "dirty". There's a right way to play, and hard slides are a part of it, but that slide was insanely inappropriate, and a VERY bad look all around for an otherwise VERY good player. I honestly didn't have an issue with the chirping, because that, in my view, went two-sided, but the slide was "Busch League". And if you do that in pro ball, completely unprovoked, at least by the player you slid into, you'll only do it once. I'm not telling you anything you don't know because your brother was a pro baseball player, so I'm not reinventing the wheel with that comment. And, YOU played at Blinn, and I KNOW they didn't teach you that, and YOU will, almost assuredly, be a Pro after your time at Tech. I'm about 100% confident in that! That is, unless you don't get THAT act cleaned up. And, maybe the most disappointing part of the whole thing is that the player you slid into is an ELITE human being who has fought through MORE injuries than any College baseball player possibly EVER. And then, you have the piece of it where you actually cost your team, one of the best hitting teams in America, the chance to keep playing and come back to win the game. And, finally, as ANGRY as that play left OSU fans, YOUR OWN teammates, fans & coaches, should have come away from that infinite times more angry than any of us.
