What would Gord say…

I live in AZ in a 55 and over active adult community and unfortunately, numerous Canadians are selling and never coming back. As a huge, American Hip fan, I'm ashamed of my country. Here's a little sign I painted for my yard.

Speaker Johnson: Can you answer 3 questions about President Trump? It’ll only take 60 seconds >>

As an Indigenous person, what Gord did really mattered to me. It gave me hope to keep fighting against people who want to deny the past. I like to think he would say: keep fighting to tell the truth, keep walking the Secret Path—even if you don't know if you're going to make it home again. Because Chanie Wenjack was just a kid. He was a warrior who died alone because people were afraid to tell the truth. It's never just pain—we can’t forget our past, because if we do, we forget what people like Charlie did, and all the kids who tried to go home but couldn’t make it. I think of Charlie and Gord when I worry I’ll never have time to speak my own language, to write in my own language, or to make art and music in my own language. And I feel the weight of continuing—because I’m not facing the cold outside in the world, I’m facing the cold in people’s hearts. And that’s more abstract, but Charlie kept walking. And I think we owe it to him to rebuild what was taken.

This is posthumous denigration. One of the best things about the Hip was they were apolitical. College girls and bikers at their shows, as Gord often pointed out. Don't politicize something as awesome as the Hip.

Not the point, which was wonderful btw, but I was thinking just this morning about the connection between Kraftwerk and Man Machine Poem. Great shirt. Keep on rocking.

Kraftwerk memories haha, God I’m feeling old. You know people have to start, including our most vulnerable and that our disabled which the Canadian and Provincial governments pretty much ignores and leaves to starve and not afford rent or supports needed, but offers free #MAID which is eugenics

Love this so much 🥰🙏🏼🔥

Beautifully said. Miigwetch 🍁🪶
