What would Mackenzie and Jones say about this? ❤️🏌️♂️⛳️

What a brave and risky shot, fraught with danger. If the player can do that, let them be rewarded. Not possible now the hole is 50 yards longer.

Alternative take: Augusta has contributed to the distance explosion. Hear me out… had they left the tee where it was, we’d all be bored watching Pro’s hit driver-wedge into 13 every year. I reckon there’d be more support for roll back if they’d done nothing 🤷♂️

I wonder if they would just say he’s clearly immensely more athletic than anybody we know….

I don’t know but it was much more interesting when they went for the green with a 2-iron. Or a 4-wood with a head no bigger than a goose egg. Much has been lost. But not for those too young to know what they missed. They continue to drool over one-dimensional slogging.

Theyve since pushed the tee box on 13 deep into those trees. Thats a tougher lift to pull off what bubba did back then.

Bob Jones said it way before, after @jacknicklaus overpowered Augusta in 1965, shooting a record 17 under par 271 for a 9 shot win over Palmer & Player. He said "Jack plays a game with which I am not familiar".

They’d probably tell him to unbutton that top button.

Jones & McKenzie would say unbutton your goddamn top button! Bubba was a goober and only prevailed due to equipment going crazy. It's an abomination that he's a two-time winner. Masters has other bad champions-Singh, Willett, Johnson, Weir, Mize, O'Meara, etc.

Honostly; all the past multiple decades of winners would not even compete. Bobby didn’t like sponsor names on anything and this course should still be respected. I wouldn’t mind seeing all the players not have sponsors plastered on the at Augusta.

That was a miss that Bubba got away with and he knows it. Love Bubba

If they had any sense they’d realise that due to an ice storm that year the trees were basically bare an that this one shot still got lucky getting through the branches and is literally the only time this has happened in history, and then probably go about their day.

So much talent a decade ago. Happy he’s found a comfortable place in life.

Good shot. Risk = reward

He deserved to win was a worthy winner that year , great to see how much it meant to him as well which was cool

Bring back persimmon 🏌️

Lefties thrive at Augusta

I was one of those gallery members to the right. The roar when the ball dropped was crazy.

They’d say move the tee back 60 yards which they ended up doing.

They'd lengthen the hole - like they've already done moron.

Completely different era. The argument is moot.

They’d applaud it.

These guys hit it way harder than us!

I can promise you he would have loved that shot from the woods on 10 that won Bubba the Masters. Guy was a unique talent on top of his game. Let him cook.

They would say,Holy Shit!Getcha Pull🤘

They solved this problem

What’s Kirby Smart doing in the masters?

This was the year Bubba won using a pink bat.

The pink driver? Or how far he hit it? :)

Augusta country club loved that shot

there's a reason they made it longer

I wonders if any veterans were kissing his arse after that shot.

Does Bubba still play golf?
