What would you check before making this overtake ?

Occasional drivers ... Not having much experience in high ways ....an issue exist in india . U need to see atleast 500 mts to 1 km a head in high ways ...when u are above 80 km perhour . If u don't do ...anything can happen A stationary vehicle , construction block , water , another vehicle coming to the lane in last minute etc .. Only with frequent driving and experience..one can learn it .

A second ago the car was not visible to the trailer. When the trailer started changing lane, it suddenly appears to its side. Other than this, there could also have been wrong sider in the right lane (these days you never know).

Always honk big vehicles before overtaking !!

The wheels of the vehicle, always. That's an early sign. If it starts to drift into your lane, honk to let the driver know you are there and hold off on the overtake till the lane is clear

after watching entire video: another data point - I realize vehicle in LEFT lane was overtaking 2 SLOWER vehicles in the RIGHT lane & fully intending to go back to RIGHT LANE(even these drvrs ack they cannot hog both the lanes) colossal stupidity if u cant read road conditions

First be in overtaking lane + Horn or flash the headlight + check no curves or intersection ahead and clear visibility. Check for other vehicle tire and then all set go for the overtake

Trucks shouldn't be allowed on Overtaking lane! Plain and simple!

That truck shouldn't be in the overtaking lane. We will never learn this in India

Be a sedate driver, without clear view of the road he is banking on luck. If not vehicles, I have seen cows/buffalos on highways and can really cause a crash

Check 1. if motor insurance is valid 2. if life insurance is valid 3. if baseball bat present in boot 4. whether all seatbelts are off, for quick exit to start the fight 5. whether camera(s) are running, to record incidence & post on #socialmedia.

without watching entire clip, I would stop at this instant &ensure a clear left lane(with 2 whlr accounted for & enuf distance b/w 2 HTVs in right lane) I may hv to enter shoulder(it is safe) as I try to pass in left lane while monitoring both HTV front wheels

Always use indicators to switch lanes and honk to make sure you are heard, noted and are visible.

Zigzag overtaking is always risky.

That is a truck! Always expect it to drive in the wrong lane.

A head light dip especially when there is a long truck, but in your case the truck driver was either nice that he saw another truck in first lane wanted to be in that lane without blocking others (without indicator) or just inexperienced

Truck has given turn indicator but due to tarpaulin indicator is not visible properly

->Car Driver should Thank the second Lorry Driver for correcting the course in fraction of second as there is a blind spot ->Get full view of first overtaking vehicle in mirror. No 3 sec followed. ->Give signal and overtake in inter-vehicular. This is a big NO bcoz of tailgating.

Crazy driver.... After overtaking the first lorry from the left he needs to wait on the right most lane, honk to get a nod from the middle lane lorry then proceed.... For God's grace he is saved

This is a very long truck you are overtaking. Honk big when you are overtaking them.
