John Stewart became FAMOUS from the cartoon series.... So what source material do you think they would REPLICATE for live action?.... What would make more people feel CONNECTED to the character?...

Green Lantern War journal

@Cyberthug2000 No one read that

@Cyberthug2000 I did, it was awesome!

I like modern John

I do as well, esp from war journal

I am reading that now thanks to your video‼️ keep doing what you do big dawg.

Will do my guy! Hope you enjoy it!

Comic book accurate doesnt mean only mainline. Objectively

Then its else world, its not canon to what the character actually is at its core. Say we are adapting else world stories

@Lolo25B I mean if it’s not a mainline comic it’s not comic accurate. Because the else world stories are divergent to the original character, idk how hard it’s to understand that respectfully

Then put a comic panel, because the cartoon isn’t comic accurate

I mean if they say it’s straight out of comics I would assume you would put a comic panel if you agree with them. If you don’t you call them out and say they are wrong simple

I 100% agree about Hank Pym. I think he should’ve been introduced in Age of Ultron and he should’ve been a part of the creation process of making Ultron.

im not even the biggest hank fan and I was so sad for the fans

It’s not canon accurate but by definition it is comic book accurate, it’s accurate to the comic book it’s based on even if it’s an Elseworld comic it’s still a comic by definition making it comic book accurate

Then say that is my point, im being told is comic accurate than we tell them its not and prove it. Then they dont acknowledge it at all and keep running spreading mis information

@MikeLJunior2525 if someone says “this is mainline comic accurate” then you had a point. but no one ever has or ever will say that

@MikeLJunior2525 oh they do, they are claiming all star superman is canon

@xJORD3Nx Most ppl don’t know or remember what’s mainline and what’s not they just remember reading that in a comic once and know it’s accurate to the comic, ur talking a different level of nerd-dom. U just have to follow up and let them know that’s was a Elseworld story or non canon.

@xJORD3Nx …they not wrong for calling it comic accurate though cuz technically it is

I get the point but Animated Jon and Comic Jon and basically the same person. Regardless of them not sharing a comic line

are they though? I dont see it at all

I’m positive you can’t point out a distinction from DCAU & Comics John. DCAU has been the core of who he is since it aired. The stoic, militaristic, strong-silent type are things introduced in the JLU is his core & who he has been for the last 2 decades

@Phenomm_ But that's not who John was when the DCAU came out. He was a proud hotshot architect who's main differentiator was his creativity. Stoic John is a McDuffie invention which works well in the context of the show but strips comic John of what made him unique in the first place.

@Phenomm_ Him not bring an architect still leaves an extermly “comic-accurate” depiction of modern John.

@Phenomm_ I'm talking about who we knew John Stewart to be before the DCAU vs after it. The DCAU version isn't "comic accurate" because the comics retrofit themselves to the DCAU. These 2 characters share almost 0 traits.

@Phenomm_ If your reinterpretation of a character becomes the template of who the character it’s comic accurate

@JoeMish3 With regards to the “comic accurate suit.”🤦🏻♂️

@JoeMish3 Yeah they are taking else world stuff in earth one if im not mistaken not my cup of tea but people might like it

Its was a comic 😑

Not canon to prime earth, its accurate to a else world story. Which isnt like john stewart truly is as a character at all lmfao

@Travese18 Its a comic book and they took the look from a comic book now it has to be mainline/cannon/dc prime/ world b5269 accurate stop it

@Travese18 Well it wasnt a comic first, it became a comic after the show was widely loved. But again its not comic accurate of what the character truly is

@Travese18 If it was a comic book at any point before the movie is made its comic book accurate what are we doing

@Phenomm_ @Travese18 So then anything can be comic book accurate.

@Phenomm_ @Travese18 If it comes from a comic book yea the problem is there are a 1001 different versions of a character and instead of saying "i like my favorite version of this character" yall say its not accurate its dumb

@CurlyManJay @Phenomm_ Exactly there is almost always a comic to defend every take a person can imagine Batman never kills:

Dude can you shut the fuck up

make me

I’m just asking if you are able to. You’re just straight spewing straight pollution

Prove me wrong then make a video how I did and prove it. If not you shut the hell up

"it's not comic book accurate" while showing a literal comic book Brother shut the fuck up

Make me bitch

I feel x men tas and by extension 97 is the most comic accurate show some things are adjusted to fit the roster they are ripping from the books

Yeah fs its close

Man don’t nobody give a fuck, you fuckin jabroni

2000 likes and counting across all my platforms so yeah a lot of people do

Lowkey a miserable take on TV, just watch whats on your screen gosh

Well it’s not a take, and I’m not the biggest tv or movie person. I’m a reader so yeah

it’s less about the comics and more about the comic characters. The characters are what matter. The animated shows are goated but they didn’t rip 1:1 from the comics either, they told their own stories using the characters but for some reason we treat live action different

Yes and I said that they dont need to do 1 for 1 in the video

Videos like these make me thankful for the life I have

Yeah I’m very thankful as well, got two jobs, I get paid to talk about comics, and I enjoy what I do

This is not a very good argument, bro. A character can be adapted based on any iteration from his or her history, but is it true to the character and how they have evolved and been established in the minds of most contemporary readers? 1/2

Nah, you should say “its main line accurate”. Cuz if its in a comic it can be “comic accurate” comic books arent just the main run and besides the main run contradicts itself very often. Something can be “ comic book accurate” to a specific artist or writers run.

These people are out of their minds, it’s an adaptation pal.. all this getekeeping elitist shit is such a fucking drag.. I just roll my eyes at these people

I roll my eyes when I see someone with low comprehension skills

Completely disagree with this dude Super Hero Movies are all mostly DC and Marvel based so when you speak on their Comics there so many different versions and timelines that are all accepted that you can never try to use the Word “Canon” where this is mainly an Anime thing to describe the difference between Comic Storyline and Show story line. They’re also usually 1 Creator Dc and Marvel are universes with Storylines Galore and Characters Galore So comic book Accurate with Super Hero movies is literally you being able to Identify 1 of the storylines to a Comic🤦🏾♂️ All that if it’s not from the Original Batman Comics or the Original Captain America Is another thing for losers to complain about‼️🤣

I think you misunderstood the whole video but it’s ok

I really don’t think you get to pick and choose what’s “comic book accurate.” If it’s based on a story that was published in a comic, that’s comic book accurate.

I don’t think casual fans get to pick and choose how they “feel” what’s comic accurate. Cannon mainline stories is what that character is objectively

It’s cute that you think I’m a casual fan, bub. This whole “comic book accurate” obsession is foolish. Which comic run? Which age? Batman used to use a gun so showing him one would be “comic book accurate” but clearly no one wants that. No character is anything “objectively.”

No where I called you a casual fan, and with comic accuracy with marvel and dc is mainline canon stories. Becuase majority of the variants are diverged from mainline comics.

You implied it when you brought casual fans into the conversation. What is a casual fan anyway? Who decides what a serious fan looks like? Variants are just as valid sources for interpretation as any others. The concept of canon is absurd when anything can become cannon.

nerds arguing and shit

You watch wrestling

I watch everything man everything

because john stewart does. We love john stewart from the justice league

and thats fine but thats not comic accurate john or you liking from the source

Why does It Matter if its canon or not lmao , its still a comic

Sometimes I feel guys like this are insufferable just watch the movie/show if u want “comic book accurate” go make a movie brother it’s 2026 you can do anything you want

Shut the fuck up ..you goofy dumbass 🤣...you made because they picked a handsome black man for this roll your a sad extra nerdy asshole..and most of the movies you name were comic book accurate but every on idiot the planet knows Hollywood is gonna do what Hollywood wants

Man just enjoy the content Jesus Christ.

Man I wasn’t talking about the show in this video, like at all. Is your listening skills that bad

I’ve been saying this for years, we have not gotten a single comic accurate movie. just movies with comic themes and storylines Nobody and I mean nobody can name a snigle comic accurate flim from either DC or Marvel

Follow earned with this one. Well done.

Thank you 🙏🏻❤️

are the elseworld stories not comics? what are we talking about? no one is saying “main line cannon accurate depiction” bc that’s not what they mean!

I mean elseworld stories are still comics and if something from a live action project like a suit or storyline, etc is ripped straight from an elseworld comic that would by definition make those things comic book accurate. Them not being accurate to the main cannon is irrelevant

Uhh all star Superman is still a fucking COMIC. Just because it isnt Canon doesn't mean its not accurate to what was on the page! Gtfo

Galactus did not want Franklin on issues 48-50, in fact Sue was not even pregnant yet tf are u talking abt

Mis worded talking about when he first appeared, but eventually after Franklin was born later on

Galactus has never tried to eat/absorb Franklin’s powers in 616 either

“Comic book accurate”, “accurate”, and “better than the source material” constantly changes for black heroes. Look at Riri Williams. Literally anything done after her initial comic will be better than “comic accuracy.” Jon Stewart was popularized bc of the animated show.

It is comic book accurate, else world stories are comic books. Saying it’s comic book accurate and mainline accurate are different things
