@SimpleReason1 Taking/stealing is the same thing. Also it's the same thing as crime/criminal. A taking king is a criminal overlord. Pretending that having a criminal overlord is a normal and good condition causes immense misery. Few want to talk about it, however. They seem to need thw abuse.

It was always God's plan for Israel to have a king

We have the illusion that Israel was monotheistic. From the day they said they didn't want to hear God from the mountain, and sent Moses, there is little time they actually worshiped God. They were a people chosen; not to be special, but to show that God loves sinners.
