What's the difference between this play and the Goff play?

Easy - it's not the Saints hitting him lmao

the saints were involved that's the difference

The Saints are on the field*

Goff’s intentions obviously..

One team is the saints vs the other team is not

Yep the Saints weren’t involved

We got hosed. Plain and simple. With the NFL associating theirselves with sports books, it’s fair to ask questions on a terrible overturn by the refs!

@JohnJHendrix Difference is that it’s not the Saints

This one didn’t go against the Saints. That’s about it.

The Denver QB did not intend to throw a forward pass. Goff did. Just ask him.

UNREAL

The Goff fumble is even more clear 😂

@Jeff_Nowak Goff’s was backwardser.

@JaiIpose Saints tax

Apparently, if the defender actually makes a play and forces the qb to throw it backwards, they get penalized for it

Saints weren't on Def.

Im so confused

The issue here is that the NFL rule states that if the passer begins his throwing motion prior to being contacted an dloses the ball then it's an incomplete forward pass, but they fail to define what a throwing motion is. Everywhere else, the arm needs to be moving forward

He turned around and threw the ball backwards, pretty simple. Nothing similar at all.

@thelegitjph

They have these vague rules written into an existence so they can use them when they want to use them and not use them when they don’t have to use them to determine outcomes in games!

The difference is Herr Goodell’s hatred for the Saints.

@stanverrett Different refs, interpreting the rules differently.

@stanverrett This looks more believable as a forward pass than Goff’s today.

The Saints aren't a part of that situation. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but the NFL sure makes it hard to not be one.

@stanverrett Because it’s the Saints…that’s the difference.

@NFLOfficiating awaiting clarification, thanks!

Nic just show the baker fumble from today lol don’t even have to go back to last year

Wow

Lol not even remotely the same and if you don't understand the difference probably shouldn't be talking about football

@Jeff_Nowak He threw this one forward so it can’t be a fumble

@JohnJHendrix About 15 yards of backwards passing that’s it
