This is more of a classification thing. The Missouri is literally a Tributary to the Mississippi. It’d be like saying “Frontierland” is the most popular amusement park in the Country, when it is a part of Disneyland. Or the Packers are more popular than the NFL.

The answer is technically the Amazon River. Cuz “America” includes North, Central, and South America. The Missouri River isn’t even the longest river in North America. The Mackenzie River is. Missouri is the longest river in the USA.

So... pet peeve... you mean the United States of America?... because, America includes all of the Americas... South America, North America, Central America... 😜😇

Without saying north or South America it’d be the Amazon.

This question sucks for real. River classifications are very arbitrary. The Missouri feeds into the Mississippi. You could just as easily measure from the delta in the Gulf all the way up through the Missouri into Montana and call that "the Mississippi". Or I could just pretend like the Ohio river is the longest by measuring from the start of the Ohio all the way down to the delta. Now that's the longest. It's arbitrary
