What about Georgia?

St Lucia

Éire (Ireland)

Kenya?

Britannia

Nope. Ierwu, proto Irish Eriú Old Irish Éire Modern Irish Ireland English translation Ireland is named after the Goddess Eriú

Ireland is named after a woman too.

Is America not named after a native woman?

Well in Irish the name of Ireland is Eire which is a woman

Saint Lucia Learned it in high school geography.

I thought he was going to say Iran

Georgia

Wrong, Ireland is the anglicized version of the Irish goddess Ériu

Egyptus was the wife of Ham, the son of Noah.

Easter Islands. Named after Easter, from Eostre the goddess. Along with St. Lucia and Ireland below (which I didn't know about) there's at least three.

Am from Uganda 🇺🇬 and it’s true 😂😂😂😂😂😂. We love that lady. Hopefully she comes by to visit Uganda 🇺🇬. Am sure she will enjoy 😉

Antarctica... aunt Arctica. That's my best guess 🤷🏽♀️

I would have guessed St. Helena, which is not exactly independent.

Europe is named after Europa, a Phoenician goddess

@TheRebeluniter I had to stop. Couldn't stand listening to the beard say nhoooo

If you are going for that, Monserrat & Guadeloupe are named after the Virgin Mary.

Eire a woman goddess as well

Ireland is Eire in its native language. Eriu is the queen which the country is named after.

I’d have gone with Greece. Greece ➡️ Hellas ➡️Helen

Scotland is named after Scota

Hellas, after Helen of Troy, name of Greece in Greek

China is 100% named after a female wrestler. Google her.

British and American virgin islands named after QE1, factually incorrect

Ireland's name in Gaeilge is a female name.

This is wrong. Technically all countries except one are referred to by pronoun "she". Australia is named after a female, though a mythical one, Australis, the muse of southern wind.

He googled that!!! Email my ass. 🤣

RWANDA

St. Lucia being the only country named after a woman isn't entirely accurate, as Ireland is the anglicization of the actual name of the prehistoric Indigenous name of the island Eire, derived from Eiru, the female goddess.

India is right answer too, origin from Sindhu (Indus River, ‘great stream’). Most Indian rivers bear feminine names/personifications as goddesses (Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari…) as nurturing mothers in Sanskrit ‘nadi’. Rivers as divine women run deep in Indic culture. 🌊🛕 #Etymology

France is a womm’s name!
