What's the worst sin a person can commit? Jesus said there is one sin that will never be forgiven: blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31). So what is it, and could you have committed it without knowing? A believer never needs to fear this. Only an unbeliever commits...

This is one of those truths that should bring comfort, not panic. The unforgivable sin is not an accidental word, a bad thought, or a moment of doubt. In Matthew 12, Jesus was confronting men who saw the work of the Holy Spirit and deliberately called it satanic. That is hardened, knowing rejection of the Spirit’s testimony about Christ. So if someone is broken over sin, wants forgiveness, and is looking to Christ, that very concern is evidence of a heart that has not been abandoned to that hardness. The answer is not to obsess over whether you crossed some invisible line. The answer is to repent, believe the gospel, and come to Christ. ✝️ “Anyone who comes to me I will never drive away.” John 6:37 NIV

Sadly, most of Humanity will be guilty of this one, for they have been called by the Holy Spirit to believe in and receive Jesus Christ as Lord, but they have refused to do so.

The Pharisees called Jesus a blaspheme sayin this was not of God or he was not of God. Every time. They didn' believe. "For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart... But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." (Matthew 12:34–37) Blasphemy is the sin of non-belief and you can not be forgiven ever if..,you do not believe.

Catholic Bible. John 20:21-23 [21]Therefore, he said to them again: "Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." [22]When he had said this, he breathed on them. And he said to them: "Receive the #Holy #Spirit. [23]Those whose sins you shall #forgive, they are forgiven them, and those whose #sins you shall #retain, they are retained."

Catholic Bible. James 5:14-16 [14]Is anyone ill among you? Let him bring in the #priests of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. [15]And a prayer of faith will save the infirm, and the Lord will alleviate him. And if he has #sins, these will be #forgiven him. [16]Therefore, #confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be saved. For the unremitting prayer of a just person prevails over many things.

I see it differently. In the context in which this was said and written, it is not an insult; it is to deliberately assign to the devil the work of the Holy Spirit and vice versa (the Pharisees were saying Jesus heals with the power of Beelzebub).

I think if a person commits repeated sin, there is a point where it is unforgivable.

This is evergreen! When a young boy asks John MacArthur why didn’t Jesus just *Pow* in the garden when Eve ate the apple, He can stop it like that? Bible Questions and Answers, Part 70 — John MacArthur “I’m Joey Cusenza, and my question is, why didn’t Jesus stop Eve at the garden of Eden when she ate the fruit? *Like, I mean, pow,* He can just stop it like that. Why didn’t He?” JOHN: That is the most profound question of all questions: Why didn’t God stop Eve from eating the fruit? This theologians call the problem of theodicy: Why is there evil in the world? If God is absolutely holy, why is there evil in the world? That’s essentially that question: Why didn’t He stop it before it started? First of all, the broad answer is this: because God allowed her to eat that fruit, God allowed sin to come into the world, so that He could be glorified. Now God is a God of love, and He could express that love even in the perfection of the Trinity. And He expressed that love to Adam and Eve when He walked and talked with them before they sinned and before she ate. So God could express His love. But if there had never been a sin, there would never be forgiveness, there would never be mercy, there would never be grace, there would never be compassion, there would never be healing, there would never be restoration. And so, forever and ever, the angels would never be able to worship God for all those aspects of His nature. So God allows evil so that He can display grace and mercy and compassion because those also are attributes of God that can only be put on display through His response to sin. There’s another reason, and that is that God is holy and just and righteous. He would never be able to display ultimately what that means unless there were sinners to judge. So whether it is judgment on sin or whether it is salvation from sin, the fact that sin exists allows God to display eternally the glory of the full scope of His attributes. Okay? Great question. Thank you, bud.

How would you guys feel if this was your kids Sunday School teacher?? This is what progressive church looks like when it finally stops pretending. She’s got the nose ring, the pink-tipped bob, the banjo and guitar on the wall, and she’s smiling while she tells you the rules for her Sunday school. Number one: your kids will never hear God referred to with just one set of pronouns. He, she, they, all of them. God is your mother, your sibling, your friend. “All the gender pronouns!!” She says it like it’s a feature. Number two: they’ll never be told they should feel ashamed of their sin. Sin exists, sure, but it’s just “working against the gospel,” it’s systemic, it’s corporate, and the main message is forgiveness first, shame never. Overlay on screen: “Sin ≠ shame!!!” Number three: they will never be told they need to believe the Bible to be Christian. The Bible is a “living text” that “evolves,” its meaning changes throughout your life, and the goal is learning how to use it, not believing every word of it. I’m a dad. I’ve got two little boys. When I drop them off somewhere that calls itself church or Sunday school, I expect them to hear that God is Father, that the Bible is true, and that sin is real and serious enough that Jesus died for it. I do not expect a woman with a septum piercing to rewrite the Trinity, the Cross, and the authority of Scripture so nobody’s feelings get hurt. This isn’t “meeting kids where they are.” This is training them that traditional Christianity is the problem and the culture’s current vocabulary is the solution. Once God has no fixed gender, sin has no real weight, and the Bible has no fixed meaning, the only thing left is whatever the teacher already believes. And she’s already told you what that is. You can keep your kids home and teach them yourself, or you can hand them over to this. Those are the options now.
