Dr.Umar Faruq Abd Allah

Translation of the clip: “The Qur’an says Jesus wasn’t crucified. I need that to be defensible. Let me find a Christian who agrees.” He finds Basilides, a 2nd-century Gnostic the Church named as a heretic. Dresses it up with a Jerome quote from 400 AD. Calls it early Christianity. Meanwhile every 1st-century source, friend and enemy alike, confirms the execution. This isn’t scholarship. It’s apologetics with footnotes.

The Trinity is political product of the 4th century and was spread by the sword.

This is a lie. Mary, Mary Magdalen and John the Beloved (son of Salom And Zebedee) were at the cross and testified to the crucifixion, supported by scriptures. Zero early christians disagreed on the crucifixion, a heretical sect came out called Gnostics who said this, that’s all.

He's right that some early Christian sects questioned the trinity and strayed into arianism. He's wrong that the core of the early church disagreed on this. But it was out of those judaizing pressures, gnostic sects and arianism that Islam likely arose.

It is heretical for a Christian to say Jesus Christ was not crucified, in fact, if a Christian said this, they are in essence, not a Christian. The best and most ancient source of the proof of his crucifixion is found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - easy to read

Here is the truth of Trinity 🙄🙄🙄

So, the disciples who witnessed everything and were killed for preaching that Jesus was crucified, buried, and resurrected just laid down their lives for a lie? Make it make sense.

Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed."

This is full of factual mistakes. No doubts about Trinity from day 1. Lets have a look at the Gospel by Matthew 28:19 But Jesus came and spoke these words to them, “All power in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. You, then, are to go and make disciples of all the nations and baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you and, remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” Erm, this was written in 1 century AD, and likely before 70AD.

Professor Umar al-Faruq Abdullah

Matthew 28:19 - 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

So… he thinks some Heretics, who are NOT Christian, were part of the early church? They were either Gnostics (hate physical matter) or Judiazers (who say Christ was not God).

Dr. Umar Faruq Abd-Allah

So Jesus just lied to his disciples in the lead up to the crucifixion? Islam is truly a Jew inspired satanic religion.

The Quran states that in the primary verse addressing this in Surah An-Nisa (4:157) "...And for their saying, 'We killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, nor did they crucify him, but so it was made to appear to them..."

The trinity didn’t take 400 years to develop. I stopped listening at that point.

It is incredibly interesting, in the train-wreck sort of way, to see someone so "educated" come to such fundamentally flawed conclusions... and sad.

@grok, did the first christians argue about whether Jesus was crucified or not? Are there historical writings to support this?

Early Christianity was far more fluid with many competing opinions than the established churches of today would have you believe. There’s a lot of documented evidence of a concerted effort to push out theologies not aligned with the Roman state church as the speaker suggested.

This just isn’t true and more glamorizing church history. The trinity as a thing was only established after hundreds of bishops gathered to debate the issue. But the issue was not proven by the bishops by their own merits but by merit of the scripture itself. If you want to show there isn’t a trinity you use scripture. If you want to show there is a trinity, you use scripture. Ol guys making it more complicated than it is

This dude is absolutely insane. Nobody disagrees on Christ being crucified. This man is absolutely disgusting. Christ was crucified and scripture has always stated this manuscripts that predate the Quran all say this. He’s is misleading all the people he speaks to.

Subhanallah, Allah is the Greatest

aybe your mother could believe her son didn’t become unalive. Maybe your mother could believe her son has been replaced. Stop defending the Quran Stop denying the truth

You’re not addressing the point and just replying with zero evidence

Muslims and lying. What a beautiful combination

Dr Omar Farooq Abdullah. He is revert and ما شاء الله a very good academic scholar!

This guy doesn’t know the History of the Church, but he pretends to be an expert which will cause the ignorant to believe him. For one it is found in the scriptures and here are two disciples of the Apostle John. Ignatius of Antioch (c. 50–117 AD):A disciple of John the Apostle, Ignatius frequently mentioned the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit together, specifically addressing the "plentitude of God the Father" and affirming Jesus as "our God". Polycarp of Smyrna (c. 69–155 AD): Another disciple of John, he described Jesus as "the eternal high priest" and "Son of God," linking him with God the Father. Here was the term Trinity first used. Theophilus of Antioch (c. 169–181 AD): He is the first known Christian writer to use the word "Trinity" (Greek: trias) to describe God, His Word (Jesus), and His Wisdom (the Holy Spirit).

This is an unintelligent lie. The whole point of Christianity is the death and resurrection of Jesus. Not a single disciple of Christ and Paul, along with the thousands that God added daily to the church disputed this.

This dudes a dumbass. And has never read early Church fathers.

He's full of shit Early gnostics believed in the holy spirit as the divine feminine called Barbelo Basically you have father, mother and son making up the 3 aspects of God and the pluroma It can also be stated it matches with the ancient Israelite creator god El and his wife Ashera Abraham kneeled before Melchizidek the eternal high priest of El and gave him 10% of all his spoils In Hebrews it is stated that Jesus is of the order of Melchizidek So ancient gnostics certainly spoke of the holy spirit

The concept of the Trinity is not the “hill to die on”. In Christianity, the Trinity concept is not a salvation issue but a theological issue. A lot of Christians believe in the Oneness Doctrine instead of the Trinity — I am one of them. Jerome was writing theology, not reporting events. When he says the “blood of Christ has not dried,” he’s using symbolic language about its ongoing spiritual power—not making a historical claim about the crucifixion or suggesting it didn’t happen. Early Christianity is documented through sources that mix theology with historical context. Writings like those of Paul the Apostle are theological, but they’re tied to real events and can be compared with non-Christian sources like Tacitus, who also records Jesus’ execution under Pontius Pilate. In contrast, Islam approaches the subject through revelation. The Qur’an presents the account of Isa from a theological perspective, emphasizing God’s intervention and authority rather than reconstructing events through multiple historical sources. So the difference is in framework: Christianity’s earliest records combine theology with historical setting, while Islam presents a theological account grounded in revelation. The crucifixion of Jesus under Pontius Pilate is considered one of the most historically secure facts about his life.
