They pay this chiacchierone by the word?'s profile picture

I have 3 daughters. If any of them asked me this I would 1 - Respect their decision, its their wedding 2 - Be heartbroken to the point I would never feel the same 3 - Know I failed as a father because they grew up believing modern feminism garbage.

Not a problem for me. I would say, " that's fine with me since it means you will be paying for the wedding. I wouldn't want to insult you by offering to pay and ruining your moment." Wonder what she would say then.

“Have that moment to myself.” The whole idea of marriage is a public commitment and families coming together. And she wants the moment for herself. Red flag.

The wedding used to be for more than just the bride. It used to be the father giving away his daughter. A man becoming a husband. To people becoming one. Now it’s there to appease the narcissism in women.

The problem is women have been taught that the Man is giving away you, his property. No. It’s been the Dad responsibility and duty to keep you safe, to provide, to protect, to encourage, and now that duty is being passed off to a husband. That is why Dad is there.

My dad broke his hip the day before my wedding and STILL managed to walk me down the aisle. Thats every dad’s dream. I dont understand why she would want to walk herself. No honor for our fathers anymore.

Girl dad here, I would be so shocked by the request that I might not even attend the wedding. Is the father of the bride still expected to pay? So this is not a family event anymore? At min I’m telling my daughter she’s not ready for marriage with that mindset. America is cooked

That's fucked up. I'd be pissed to even have the nerve to ask that stupid ass question

She’s an asshole. Nobody else is living your life but you, but somehow on that day you want to deny your dad walking you down the aisle because “I just want that day to myself.” What? You’re an asshole and a brat

Sorry dad, but you raised a self righteous cunt. I sure hope you didn’t donate or pay anything for the wedding. I feel sorry for the dude she’s married to cause he’s in for a miserable life

A guy raised you, your whole life, protected you, provided for you, loved you, and in the last moments until that job is passed to someone else is saddest moment seeing his daughter given to another man you have to make it about yourself. Poor dad.

Incredibly disrespectful to your father. You want that time to yourself? B*tch, the whole ceremony is centered around you. You want even MORE attention? I can see if he wasn't apart of your life, but how do you just cut him out of the ceremony like that. Red flag for the dude who marries her.

Well, I wonder how many women say they don't need their husband or father (Since almost all linesman are men) if their power is knocked out the next couple days.

This chick was not close with her father. Either he came in later in life or wasn't present for her. Ain't no fucking way a bride would abandon that part of the tradition to "have the moment for herself" otherwise.

Why would she NOT want her dad to walk her? What fresh entitlement hell is this that Gen Z has cooked up? So glad my da got to walk me, even though our relationship was only meh at the time.

If my finance said some dumb shit like this to her father I would call off the wedding because she just showed me my future. She is selfish and self centered. She would deny her father his moment to hand her off to the man caring for her moving forward so it can be all about her

The daughter is so selfish. And won’t understand what she robbed her father of until she has kids. But knowing this generation, they might tell their kids to do it

He is supposed to be giving his daughter away. Why do these idiots get married if they don’t understand the meaning behind all of it. Picking and choosing which part of the ceremony they want is exactly what is destroying this country.

Cool. She can pay for her portion of the wedding as well if she wants to flaunt her “girl power”.

He shouldn’t attend the wedding. He should say ok that’s fine but I won’t be there and I won’t be paying for it either. Simple as that. You made your choice and now I’ve made mine.

So many women don’t realize how bless they are with a good father. It’s weird and selfish to want to have that moment to yourself. I think a lot of people forget that they need to honor their parents

There’s a lot to unpack on all sides, including the guy that stitched the video. Honestly, you can have a conversation with your daughter and still respect her wishes. I wouldn’t care what my kids want as long as they aren’t doing it out of hate or a selfish reason.

Perfectly fine if she paid for the wedding. If not, it’s disrespectful. Can’t be independent on someone else’s dime.

Woman rejects the pageantry of being the ‘property‘ of one family being given to be ‘property‘ of another and men hear “YOU’RE being walked over”. Are dads handing over their sons in this way? Grow up. It’s 2026

Then, after the wedding she will say how hurt she was that her father didn’t care enough about her to make an effort to change her mind or he should have been devastated and showed it so he could feel good about her self
