I’ve spent a lot of time recently in Northern Ireland, and the patriotism here is something else. Watching the bands today of the apprentice boys in Ballymoney was incredibly moving, every beat of the drum carried pride, passion, and a deep sense of loyalty. Loyalty to their culture, their heritage, their history, and to this great land. You can feel it in the atmosphere, in the people, in the way they stand and represent who they are. It makes you think… England could learn a lot from the men and women of Ulster.

One of the most common questions I get asked is, “What camera and lens do you use?” Forget camera models, lenses, settings, etc. Study your subject. Learn what they eat, where they sleep, where they travel, and why. Become a silent stalker, watching their every move from a safe distance. Study their food and its food and its food and its food, etc. Spend as much time with them in the wild as you can, and you will be greatly rewarded with wisdom you won’t find in any book. Sit with them through their celebrated triumphs, necessary failures, and personal losses. You will quickly see that they are all emotional beings, and when you become emotionally invested in them, a new world will present itself to you and your camera. I can’t stress this enough. This is the single most important thing you can do to improve your experiences with the wild world and your camera of choice.

The first time #HarryandMeghan saw the rest of the family after their announcement that they were quitting and turning tail was at Westminster Abbey with #MeghanMarkle in the notorious Kermit outfit. Harry complains that they were “cold” to them and he’s just flabbergasted that they wouldn’t “use”the ILBW and all of her Princess Diana like talents to their advantage. Well-first, Harry is the only person besides Markle that thinks there a Diana resemblance. The family was beyond sick and tired of those 2 constantly complaining and Markle’s treatment of staff was a HUGE problem. By the time they announced they were leaving, most of the family was a-ok with that. Nobody was upset they were leaving-they were disgusted with their behavior.
