I think one reason men are reluctant to share their feelings and be vulnerable is that what they say could be used against them in the future....so, clamming up is a way to try and protect a 'future' peace...

Most women's frame of reality is based upon Rom-coms and romance novels, so their advice or conversations around relationship health is almost always twisted. It's not a good idea for men to place much stock in what women say. Pay attention to behaviors/actions in relationships.
