Great story too bad it never works out that way. I got my dear john while overseas, we were newly weds.Four years later, I did run into my ex-wife while I was carrying my new born daughter.

That is not always the case. I remember a “man overboard “ called after our ship left Hawaii in the middle of the night. What seemed like hours later, the young marine was saved.

There was a Marine from 26 MEU-SOC on my boat during MARG 2-93 who got a Dear John letter, our 30 days in Haifa helped him recover. All of those Marines on my boat (USS Pensacola LSD 38) were awesome dudes.
