When a Tesla owner has to drive a gas car again

Sometimes just starting the gas vehicle feels like I'm in the Space Shuttle..

I know the feeling. Got in my son’s car the other day. After getting used to instant start, one pedal driving, and all the tech, going back feels like operating a machine from another era.

Operating a Tesla feels exactly like sitting in a SpaceX Crew Dragon. Who else has that same “I just climbed into a spaceship” feeling the moment they slide into a Tesla?

😂😂😂😂😂 I leave my wife’s car on all the time, shift gears with the windshield wiper, take my hands off the wheel, release the gas pedal…

😂😂 It’s wild how fast our brains adapt. Put me in a gas car now and I’m looking for the screen, one pedal driving, and wondering why it’s making all those noises.

My issue is just opening the door and getting out without putting the car in park or turning it off. I’ve taken out a few mailboxes. I mean, I’ve seen the car I was driving do that, while I’m outside watching, thinking to myself “JFC, AGAIN?!” 🤣🤣🤣

That’s so true. Tesla really rewires your muscle memory. Going back to the old way feels weird now!! I parked my sons car and was like oh yeah I need to put it in park 🤣 so embarrassing

I rent cars for work trips several times a month and I'm starting to struggle to remember to turn the car on and off with the push button. The struggle is real!

It’s funny how fast you get used to not thinking about it and then it hits you! Struggle is definitely real lol

Yeah, it’s absolutely crazy. I’m so used to just driving itself most of the time not even using the wheel for anything and taking care of some business work are watching a movie or film honestly, I probably will forget how to drive anyway.

Yeah you get use to this car driving you around, having regen braking, parking itself for you…to “oh wait I have to do it all” lol

It’s truly private to believe it two of my friends have already got Tesla’s. I don’t think there’s any turning back lol

I was on vacation and a family member threw me his truck keys to go to the store, and when I climbed in I just sat there stupid amd confused trying to figure out how to start it. It didn't turn on automatically, there was no start button, and there was no visible key on the fob... Turns out it was one of the fobs where you press the button and the physical key rotates out, but I had no clue and took me a good minute to figure out. "I have to do a step to reveal the key, then put the key in the ignition and turn it??? And these 50 keys just dangle and clank around while I drive?" Felt like the stone age.

Yes. It’s painful to drive a gas powered car now. I have to remember to turn off the engine and lock the doors.

I normally drive a Tesla, and have had some cheap Nissan for the last 2 weeks on vacation. I've accidently walked away from it with the engine running now more times than I can count...

In 30 degrees heat running in and of stores doing errands ..KEEP mode is the best feature ever

I always tend to leave them running now... You forget you have to turn them off when you're done. 🤷🤣

Card? I keep one on me but I’d be like why doesnt this retrograde pos recognize me via my phone encrypted key and why isn’t it driving me to the destination it should have already pre-plotted from the address on my phone calendar? Also WHY was it hot inside when I got in!

I can’t remember to put the ice car in park or lock the doors.

I'm not that bad yet, but I am guilty of getting out of an ICE car and leaving it running.
