Funny enough, I feel girls spend way more money on games/fandoms/offical merch. I could be wrong tho! you'd think if they did, wouldn't companies want more of that money by marketing towards them.

An interesting thing with Nintendo being marketed as a gendered toy in America is that it was marketed as a computer (literally a Family Computer) in Japan, meaning the whole gender dichotomy in games was much less prevalent over there compared to the States.

I think the funniest thing about this timeline, too, is the fact that you can look to Xbox, Playstation, and PC games and see how their target audience is very blatantly cishet males, whereas one of Nintendo's biggest IPs of this past decade, Splatoon, has become an LGBTQ+ haven.

Dunno. Honestly, I've been playing videogames since I was a little girl with (access to) a Nintendo.

Women need to play dollhouse so they can learn to homemake

Yay, adam ruins gaming

we need more girly games!!!!

Great episode!
Some of the subs seem off. It doesn’t look automated based on how it’s placed. Really sticks out to me because killed is pretty obviously not culled. Grokked becoming rocked is an understandable mistake.
