When are we going to stop lying about Jay-Z? #HipHop

@EnterDaDome Saw a kid last week say that Jay-Z first hit was “Big Pimpin” and every album flopped up until Blueprint. 🙂😂 they almost tricked me into using all my 280 characters

😂

@EnterDaDome I understand him not being some peoples preference BUT I don’t understand where the hate for that man comes from

It’s weird bro

@EnterDaDome Even PAC mentioning Jay a few times lets you know his reach, he wasn’t a nobody even in 1996

@EnterDaDome I saw a post from a dude who was say he was in 6th grade in 99 and commented that JayZ wasn’t as big as people said!😂 At 10 years old the world around you barely exists so I take that with a grain of salt!😂

😂 that’s hilarious ain’t it

@EnterDaDome Yep. Your account is precisely how i remember it. 96-97, Jay was this rapper i noticed but most of the kids at school weren't aware of. 98, Hard Knock Life, he blew up & every1 was obsessed w/ Jay-Z. He was the definition of mainstream superstar for 3 yrs prior to Blueprint.

@EnterDaDome I can make the argument that Beyonce benefitted more from being with Jay in the beginning. Her second album dropped in 06 when HOV was retired. Her third album dropped right after American Gangster. He has retired and started a second run by the time she became Sasha Fierce 😂

@EnterDaDome I go way back with Jay-Z since of course The Jaz AKA JaZ-O, Big Daddy Kane and Original Flavor. I laugh when people don't know the history of Jay-Z. Hell way before Reasonable Doubt he was doing that speed rap at times

Absolutely, he paid dues before blowing up.
