The nightmare Ash had was the world loosing it's joy and whimsy. Which unfortunately is the current reality for us. No going to a Pokemon lab, choosing our starter Pokemon, and going on epic journeys for us

He discovers the real world 😱

Our world is literally hell to people in the Pokemon world.

I like how ash's nightmare is our real life haha..

I like the idea that if Pokémon didn't exist, Ash would've been a car enthusiast.

Basically the life of a kid in the Pokemon universe be like:

I know damn well this exists SPECIFICALLY as a middle finger to the “Ash is in a Coma” theory. And frankly, deserved. Fuck you lot for trying to take the whimsy out of Pokémon by having it all be in Ash’s head.

I have this nightmare all the time. Oh wait that’s just real life. 😭😭😭

If anything this is giving vague Digimon vibes— when the kids were in the real world again after having been to the Digital World

Thank goodness we have the Pokémon games. Even if our reality isn’t that one, I’m grateful I got to grow up with this series. It’s made this reality that little bit brighter.

I live that nightmare every day.

I feel like something special here was trying to break free of modern Pokemon and become something we've all yearned for at least since Gen III, but it was held back by the mandates of what modern Pokemon is allowed to do.
