In light of the Supreme Court ruling that states can prohibit transgender athletes from competing on girls' and women's sports teams, NCAA President Charlie Baker says “the most important thing about it is to have a clear policy and to have one that is consistent with federal policy.” “Because that eliminates sort of all the gray with respect to how this should be dealt with or how it should be treated,” he explains. When asked if the policy "makes the NCAA inclusive enough," Baker says, “Yeah, I do...there's plenty of science and plenty of debate and discussion about this, and reasonable people can disagree. But I don't believe that this change at the federal level, which did create clarity for us around this issue, steps us back at all from our policies with respect to inclusivity and participation.”

I did try to clarify it in subsequent posts on X, but those get much less attention. What I meant by he's right is that the danger of AI is very significant at this point. We need to do better with AI safety, or we have an exponentially increasing risk with the AI models.
