When asked about where we are now that Bill 212 has passed, Mayor Olivia Chow 🇨🇦 completely ignores any opportunity to advocate for safe, protected bike lanes on Bloor. Hopefully, she is fighting for her constituents in private, because she definitely isn't doing it publicly.

@MayorOliviaChow She is a politician, and this was an event announcing a positive collaboration between three levels of government. I can fully understand why she wouldn't sour this photo op. Direct your ire towards the ones who are actually responsible for the legislation in the first place.

@MayorOliviaChow Please see past posts that contain plenty of ire for the provincial government. All I'm saying is it would be nice if she at least addressed what *her* priorities were and made some type of gesture that she cares. Sarkaria made the opposite.

@MayorOliviaChow That’s not surprising. Note she said “we can’t say anymore about that now” suggesting that she is still working on it behind the scenes. A compromise will probably come. It will not be everything we want but it won’t be as bad as the bill hopefully. 1/2

@MayorOliviaChow Disappointed with Mayor Olivia Chow's response to that, she could have fought harder for the bike lanes to stay. I believe the city should allow a 3 year trial run with the bike lanes, allow all to adapt to the "New Norm" this is modern day living.
