One of the biggest political misunderstandings in America is that people keep confusing communism, socialism, democratic socialism, and social democracy as if they’re the same thing. They’re not. Democratic socialism is criticizing capitalism, which social democracy is actually based on. The same thing happens with Israel. I support Israel’s right to exist. I support Jewish people. I always have. At the same time, I have no problem saying: Fuck Netanyahu, his government, and anyone who supports policies I believe are immoral. Criticizing a government is not the same as hating an entire people. America desperately needs to stop arguing with labels and start arguing with reality.
