Quentin Taratino said Lawrence Fishburne’s performance in King of New York was so incredible he thought - “he could be the greatest actor of his generation”. He explains: "As great as Christopher Walken is in this movie. To me, it's Larry Fishburne's movie - it was the rock that becomes a diamond aspect of the movie. It's why I could defend this movie against all comers, because to me, Fish's performance in this movie was comparable to a young Brando. It was the most exciting performance by an actor of his generation that I'd seen in a movie of that time. And I thought, well, that's it. There is a new Marlon Brando, and his name is Larry Fishburne - it was amazing, it was mesmerizing… He is the first hip hop gangster in movie history. That character had never been done before this. He came up with that himself… The three big Fishburne moments to me, is his opening sequence with…Tito. That's it, with Tito - black glove dude. And his reunion with Frank. And then it's the chicken scene (see below). Those are his three big arias. Not only that though - expressions that I would later hear for the rest of the decade, I actually heard for the first time in that scene. I'd never heard the expression; “I'll slap the black off you” before. That was the first time I heard it when Fish says it to Snipes. I've since heard it many times… And that was actually the first time I ever heard, “fuck you very much”. And I would proceed to hear that for the rest of the 90s. But those were the first times I'd ever heard those expressions… As terrific as he has been in other things - the level of excitement that I had over him when this movie was over, I have never had that excitement again. If you feel the wind shifting, I feel it too. This entire situation has been a shock to navigate, but I’m solid—because I know who I am. No amount of noise or pressure changes the fact that I am a woman who works hard, tells the truth, and takes care of people. And I keep coming back to something my grandfather used to say when we needed rain in Georgia: 🌧️ “Rain down, Little David—big drops, close together.” And right now? That rain is falling exactly where we need it. The support has been overwhelming. My team has grown, I have an incredible legal team behind me, and Bill Ackman has even generously stepped in to help cover legal expenses. ~ About ‘Loser (ft. Yena)’✨ 🐹: Yena joined me on this track. I actually came up with the concept for this one as well. Honestly, other than DSYLM, I created the concepts for all the other songs too. For this song, I tried to be imaginative with it. 🐹: I’ve never dated anyone during my student years so I imagined a lot about what it would feel like if students were in a relationship. 🐹: It also reflects a bit of my own personality to lead to kind of childish arguments. Like, one says 'You think you can live without me?' and the other snaps back,'Well, can you live without me then?' Then the guy says something like I’m good-looking and all… you’ll regret it if you let me go' and the girl’s like 'you would regret it just as much if u let me go!' I wanted to try with this kind of concept. 🐹: When I heard the song, I just felt like Yena would be the perfect fit for it. So I reached out through my company and asked if she’d be interested in working it with me, and thankfully she said yes. Patrick Swayze on why he begged to be cast in "Ghost" (1990) & the reason the role was very personal & the hardest he ever did: "When I read this script, I went crazy for it. I said, 'I'd ki!! for this role.' I have to do this role. I heard they were talking to Kevin Kline (for the lead role). But I didn't feel they needed that over-the-top humor. I basically had to beg. After "Road House' (1989) and "Next of Kin' (1989), that kind of pulled me away from the romantic image. Jerry Zucker was quoted as saying, 'Over my dead body will Patrick Swayze ...' I basically said, "I will come in. I will do anything he wants me to do. I will become putty in his hands.' I went in there (to read) and when I was done, they were all crying and they said, 'You got the role.' (Laughs.) And now Jerry's going around the country telling everybody, 'Oh, yeah. There's nobody else who could have done this role but Patrick.' It's the hardest thing I've ever done. I didn't expect it to be. There's nothing to play with. You don't have the luxury of the environment or a physical world or props or ... so that made it a little strange. "I really identified with Bob Hoskins in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' (1988) It was very weird. The script was one of the hottest scripts around town. It was very much sought-after. When I read it, I cried about six times. It just ripped my heart out. I felt I had to do this movie. I felt like the world needed this film. I felt so strongly about what it could do... the statement it could make about love and taking love with you after you die. That felt so strongly to me, especially in today's time. About the only movies that work out there are movies that are ki!!ing people or blowing things up. I needed a movie like this. I needed a movie (that) when I come out of it, my soul is going to feel good, my heart is going to feel good. It changed me more as a person in any way than I would have imagined in terms of analyzing my unwillingness to commit that last bit in a relationship. I naively said, when I signed to do the movie, I said, 'Yeah, it's going to be great to do a comedy. It's light and everything.' That's the farthest thing from the truth. I didn't expect it to be so intense. Also, this movie allowed me to finally say goodbye to my Dad. Now, I believe he's (his spirit) standing right here." When I was traveling to NC I bought a window seat because I wanted to enjoy the scenery, it was slightly more expensive than a normal seat. When I got boarded, I went to my tow and I looked at my seat and there was a kid sitting there. I was confused because this was the seat I paid for, I had no idea who the kid was and why they were in my seat. A woman came up and handed some snacks to the kid and then sat down at the seat next to the kid and I asked her if they were in the right seat and she said yes. I said the window seat was mine and showed the ticket. She said well her daughter wanted to sit there, I said well if she did you should have paid for it because I did. She asked if I had kids and I said no, and she said well when you do you will appreciate it because things like this will keep them quiet during the flight. Once again I said that’s fine but I paid for this for a reason, you should have planned ahead. I ended up having to get an attendant who made them move, but the woman wasn’t quiet about it she started calling me selfish and what kind of person would take stuff away from a kid. I said the kind of person that paid for the things they feel entitled to. I did end up feeling bad about it later but it wasn’t really my problem, I didn’t want to be emotionally blackmailed because she didn’t want to pay more money for that set. This woman moved seats on her own and was told she would be booted if she didn’t sit in her assigned seat. I’m sure there is a reason behind this, I think I read an article once that said it was due to weight and such. Would you move though? It doesn’t seem like much of a big deal to me.

When I was traveling to NC I bought a window seat because I wanted to enjoy the scenery, it was slightly more expensive than a normal seat. When I got boarded, I went to my tow and I looked at my seat and there was a kid sitting there. I was confused because this was the seat I paid for, I had no idea who the kid was and why they were in my seat. A woman came up and handed some snacks to the kid and then sat down at the seat next to the kid and I asked her if they were in the right seat and she said yes. I said the window seat was mine and showed the ticket. She said well her daughter wanted to sit there, I said well if she did you should have paid for it because I did. She asked if I had kids and I said no, and she said well when you do you will appreciate it because things like this will keep them quiet during the flight. Once again I said that’s fine but I paid for this for a reason, you should have planned ahead. I ended up having to get an attendant who made them move, but the woman wasn’t quiet about it she started calling me selfish and what kind of person would take stuff away from a kid. I said the kind of person that paid for the things they feel entitled to. I did end up feeling bad about it later but it wasn’t really my problem, I didn’t want to be emotionally blackmailed because she didn’t want to pay more money for that set. THOUSANDS of people all gathered together for one purpose; with one mission in mind, to help Free Karen Read and to help shed light on what is going on (and has been going on) in the very corrupt Norfolk County. This is what I joined FKR for.. THIS!!! I know everyone has their own personal reasons as to why they decided to speak up, and that’s okay, we got the job done, and that’s all that really matters when all is said and done.. zjy complained about swl and even said she would never talk to him again. what a cool slay girl 😂😎 q. the first thing you couldn't stand about each other? and how did you eventually accept it? zjy: I'll complain first swl: go ahead zjy: at first, I thought this person never talked. our drama wasn't one where the characters were close from the start. so I thought we should at least get familiar. I'd talk to you and it felt like swl: not very good at responding. zjy: no. you either didn't hear me or you were already trying to open up but just couldn't swl: yeah. I really didn't talk much.
