Yesterday, DCM Shri DK Shivakumar asked me for my plan of action for Bengaluru. He has asked me for alternate solutions. In this regard, I have sought time from his office to present ideas on how Bengaluru should address its traffic congestion, among other problems. I have long advocated for sustainable solutions to fix Bengaluru issues. As a resident of this city, it’s my responsibility to support good ideas, as much as it’s my duty to oppose bandaid fixes which hardly address the core problem. Bengaluru needs bipartisan approach towards solving its long pending problems. He's a senior politician and administrator, who intends to do his best for the city. I hope this discussion helps us find sustainable solutions and work together to make Bengaluru a more liveable city while addressing its major challenges. I’ll keep you all posted how this meeting goes.

Bengaluru residents took to the streets today in a rather unique form of protest, demanding something as basic as better roads yes, roads, the very thing one might assume is a given in a so-called "world-class city." Their demand is simple and fair: if citizens are paying hefty taxes year after year, why is the government failing so miserably at providing proper infrastructure in return? Despite countless complaints, requests, and social media outcries, the condition of the roads remains abysmal full of potholes, uneven surfaces, and crumbling edges. And while citizens continue to dodge craters like they’re in a video game, the Brand Bengaluru minister DK Shivakumar and the Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS appear to be in a deep slumber. It's almost impressive how consistently they’ve managed to ignore public concern. One might even suspect they’re aiming for a record The irony is hard to miss while the government is busy painting a glossy picture of "Brand Bengaluru" for the outside world, the actual city seems to be stuck in the 1960s, if not earlier. Is that what "Brand Bengaluru" stands for? Romanticizing a time when decent roads and proper urban planning were still a fantasy? The citizens are fed up. They're tired of flashy PR campaigns and hollow promises. Bengaluru doesn’t need more slogans or hashtags it needs roads that don’t turn into swimming pools after five minutes of rain. It needs infrastructure that doesn't crumble faster than the patience of its people. So, to the authorities: maybe it’s time to wake up, step outside the AC offices, take a good look at the chaos, and start treating the citizens with the respect they deserve. Hosa Road, after Nandhini Junction towards Electronic City in Bengaluru, has been in the same deteriorated condition for the past year. The road is riddled with massive potholes, and calling them potholes would be an understatement. These are more like craters you’d expect to find on the surface of the moon, not on a major road in one of India's largest cities. Despite Bengaluru being known for its rapid development and high-tech infrastructure, the state of this road is a glaring exception.
