When Clemson & South Carolina got into a massive brawl

Was at this game as a student. *Malice at the Palace was night prior *Pre-game skirmish when SC players taunted Clemson players during their stadium entrance. *Actual brawl was a surreal moment as they literally fought from 1 end of field to the other

Reminder that these two schools almost fought a literal battle in 1902. Guns, knives, bayonets and all.

Was beating their ass so they had to resort to fighting. And then we beat their ass in that too

Not the proudest Clemson moment but they had it coming for dancing at the bottom of the hill and disrespecting the Valley

I was Cocky that game. Junior year for me. Stood by a cop that said “this is pretty pathetic isn’t it?!” I nodded. Then I got left in the stadium…

I remember this, Coach Holtz was spitting mad after the game. Both teams passed on bowl games.

I was there. SCar started the fight at the bottom of The Hill by taunting the Clemson tradition. Then proceeded to lose the fight and the game.

Who won the game?

Got engaged the night before in Clemson at the Presidents Garden. That night was the Malice in the Palace, followed by the Clemson/UofSC fight. Was in the north upper and saw the fight move toward the hill. All I could think of was it going into the student section 😬

Clemson = 🗑️ (The athletic team and fans, not the educational institution) Also, I dare any rivalry to stand up to the historic hatred in the Palmetto State. The only rivalry that had the students face off with bayonets!

I mean…. 200+ young alphas. It’s not always gonna be hugs and high fives. This happens every now and again. It’s not embarrassing. It’s just testosterone.
