He's a LIAR. And a moron. Only 37% of high school seniors are ready for college-level math & reading, yet we celebrate an 86.6% high school graduation rate. Uhh....something isn't right in K-12 Mudville folks. Just sayin. With college readiness at a 15-year low, it's clear We're preparing the next generation for... something.

@waOSPI @chrisreykdal is a massive loser and has been an epic failure. He is responsible for destroying public education in Washington State and that will be his legacy.

Students fail the test; blame the test. Young adult shoplifters get arrested; blame the cop. The only thing this POS is teaching our children is how to be failures!

This guy is a nasty pos. Trying to say that what we know is true ( kids can’t read well, have very limited vocabulary and critical thinking skills is a misinterpretation IS gaslighting. 2+2=5 you just aren’t looking at it right. The fact that he LAUGHED about the scores and then tried to make it ok by saying some with low scores do go to college just opens up the colleges who are turning out a generation of emotional self centered entitled brats (not all - many based students too) that are not employable is astonishing. Meritocracy is the only system that rewards appropriately.

“54% of kids at a 2 go to COLLEGE…” is a statement about the colleges and the broken application process, not the underperforming students

Just need to increase teacher salaries more, and it will all cure itself. WA already has the highest median teacher salaries in the US.

"he wants to ban the tests" = Cover up the failure. "prohibit school choice" = Make sure the people can't escape.

Did he just come out advocating abolishing federal testing and dissing the Department of Education?

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Chris Reykdal @EDSecMcMahon

I’ve seen this dance a thousand times. It’s ALWAYS a faulty testing mechanism and not unprepared students, misaligned curriculum, or crappy teachers. It’s the same argument as blaming unprovable systemic racism for the failure of some groups to succeed in our society.
