![In July, there was a Texas Tribune story claiming that some Texas Republicans were reluctant to redraw Texas’ congressional maps. Let me be clear: I was never one of the reluctant! I passed new congressional maps in the Texas Senate so Texans could elect more Republicans to Congress. Accusations of racial discrimination were ridiculous then and ridiculous now. Judge Jerry Smith gets it. In his opinion issued yesterday, Judge Smith wrote, “the obvious reason for the 2025 redistricting of course is partisan gain[.]” I urge the U.S. Supreme Court to take quick action to allow all our conservative Texans to have conservative Republican representation in Congress! As I said, I was in support of electing more Republicans to Congress from Texas from the beginning. Here is a short clip of what I said in June before Gov. Abbott added redistricting to the special session call.](https://image.24vids.com/tw-1991603993768861696/media/G6OZQqOWsAE_tpv.jpg)
