It's easy to complain about capitalism when you have supermarket available every mile around you where you can go and buy food and you don't have to stand hours and hours in line for a piece of bread or a bucket of water like it is in so many countries where socialism is in place. If the United States has been falling in the last years it is because of people like you who support a government that lies straight to your face. A government that creates this fake narrative that everyone is equal while destroying prosperity. People have always wanted to immigrate to the United States for a reason. And it's not because we are a white supremacist country, not because we're this, I can guarantee you. It's because we've always taken the word freedom very seriously. It seems to me that it's getting lost and once that concept of freedom gets lost, that's when we're going to start having lives that look exactly like these countries that I just mentioned here.”

There might not be a more incompetent company in crypto than Coinbase 🛡️. I will 100% rotate to using either Kraken or Binance.US 🇺🇸 as my cex of choice. Cobie Coinbase Support Coinbase Markets 🛡️ Here’s Coinbase’s ai service now saying that they don’t support hyperliquid / hyperEVM as I’m looking at the option in my wallets. Still dealing with possibly one of the dumbest possible issues I’ve ever had in crypto. Sent hyperliquid 3k USDC to my Coinbase hyperEVM deposit Cobie Coinbase 🛡️ Yes I get that it was hyper core cause it was from Bullpen but regardless, Coinbase has the keys and can easily fix this. They are just completely negligent and won’t. Nor do they even specify that within the app. I’ve been a Coinbase member since like 2015 and a Coinbase one member, but as usual, for no added benefit and dog shit ai support. This is like the second escalation multiple weeks later and wasting hella time just to get 3k credited or even simply sent back. I’ve had multiple escalations, completely different answers from different reps, I was at one point given a random as fuck 25 dollars credit and told to wait a week. His name is David Bahnsen, and aside from managing over $7 billion in assets, David has forgotten more about the global economy than most economists will ever remember. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision that I’m going to walk away from journalism. This is not a decision I’ve made lightly. It has been coming for some time, and it has been something I’ve been thinking about for months. However, a number of things in recent times have significantly contributed to me reaching this point. I spoke briefly about some of this with these two lovely young lads on the podcast below. We didn’t have a huge amount of time to speak about everything, so I’ve added a little more context here following the recording. I want to start with the situation surrounding Jason Arday. It genuinely left me in a whirlwind of emotions. I was incredibly upset and, honestly, it made me cry. I was left feeling shocked and confused by what had happened. At the same time, I have to admit that I knew something like this was coming. I really did. I’ve written before about my experiences with the media, and about the effect that being targeted or misrepresented can have on you personally. For me, it has gone far beyond simply being upset by something I have read. It has affected me physically and mentally, and in the past it contributed to me self harming. I wrote a long piece about those experiences when discussing misinformation, which you can find at the top of my profile. So while this particular situation came as a shock to many people, I cannot honestly say that I was completely surprised. My experiences over the past year have made me increasingly aware of the direction in which parts of the media, and wider society, are heading. Then there is the situation involving me and Robert Jenrick, the people around him, his wider political circle on the right and his media circle, and the way I have been portrayed by them. In all honesty, I have found the way I have been portrayed deeply upsetting. It has not been an isolated incident or something that happened once. It has been consistent and, in my view, has often felt like an attempt to undermine the work I was doing by challenging and questioning people in positions of influence. The impact of that has been significant. To be completely honest, it has made me ill. What has also been difficult is seeing people accept a portrayal of me which, from my perspective, could not be further from the truth. And unfortunately, this is not something I have experienced only in relation to this particular situation. There have been numerous occasions where I have felt misrepresented by sections of the media. This particular situation has simply gained a significant amount of attention, which is why I have chosen to address it. There are many more reasons behind my decision to leave journalism. There is a lot more I could say, but I don’t want to sit here and list every single reason. Those two situations have, shall we say, been the cherry on top. The reality is that this decision has been developing for months. It has been on my mind since earlier this year, and I have gone backwards and forwards over whether walking away really is the right thing to do. But the wider culture surrounding the media has also made me question whether I want to be part of the industry at all. The media industry, in my experience, has become incredibly divisive. Sadly, I think that reflects wider society too. There is so much fighting, so much division and so much focus on scoring points against one another. I have received support from some people, and I will always be grateful to those who have stood by me and helped me. But, in my experience, that support has often been outweighed by indifference, division and people looking after their own interests. It can sometimes feel as though everyone is fighting everyone else, rather than trying to build each other up. It reminds me of politics itself: constant point scoring, competing interests and a desire to win rather than a desire to understand. 1/2
