I mean Dolly met a lot of presidents too but she wasn’t cancelled for not opining on Palestine

But Dolly, God love her, was unusual! Country was often political. Loretta Lynn campaigned for the Bushes. Willie Nelson dug George McGovern... Vietnam was every bit as bitter as Gaza.

I guess when 30,000 children died in Gaza. Or were people like Vera Lynn being political by singing for troops in WWII?

Probably about the same time County Councillors started believing they were important political figures.

Soon we will have bus drivers delivering their political views to their captive audience before pulling off. I mean, why are their views less relevant than anyone else's? Will your dentist be regaling you next?

If they want to be rewarded with jobs, they do it. That is why the most vocal get job after job after job.......

no they did not ever comment on politics. they were far too afraid to offend the govt. of their day. Dolly would never talk politics, she just made life better for thousands. We need to follow her example.❤️🧡💛

The problem with "everything is political" is how destructive it is. Look at the last 15 years. Everyones fighting, everyone's divided. People used to laugh more, get along more. It's not about ignoring politics. It's about putting it down sometimes so we can all get along.

It was around the time that so many far right politicians became sleazy, divisive, hate-mongering bastards.

It was never compulsory but the choice is to stay away from politics or nail your colours to the mast and lose half your fans. Applies to both sides in any debate. Let’s not pretend otherwise. The decision is up to the celebrity themself. Simple as that.
