CJ Stroud’s superpower as a QB is throwing in-breakers. Digs, crossers, slants. Last year he was 1st league wide in success rate on in-breakers, tied for 1st with Jared Goff on EPA/play. Some of that has to do with Nico Collins on the receiving end— that’s also his superpower, catching those types of passes. It’s a phenomenal skillset & one that the Texans haven’t been able to lean into, get the most out of because of the lack of an efficient, explosive running game. That defense was truly up there statistically, eye test, talent. Probably the most talented defense top to bottom, they have star power & the in between players. That offense, they went from sh**, to not sh** w/ offensive line. That units still not great, but I think they can be average. If that’s average & the run game is even near average— I think Stroud plays better last year than people realize, it’s just the end was so bad. Do I think it’s gunna be a top 10 offense? No. But if it’s just average that’s all you need. I consider Stroud a locked top 14 QB, that’s more than enough to win a Super Bowl with.
