Today, the PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PM-JDY) completes 12 successful years. It is the world’s largest Financial Inclusion Scheme. Launched under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this historic initiative is advancing the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ by ensuring greater financial security, dignity and new opportunities for millions. Before 2014, millions of people, particularly from underserved and vulnerable sections, remained outside the formal banking system. The PM-JDY transformed this landscape by bringing them into the formal financial system and providing access to essential services such as banking, insurance, pensions and digital payments. By expanding financial inclusion, the scheme has strengthened transparency, improved the delivery of welfare benefits and contributed significantly to the growth of India’s digital economy. Today, there are over 59 crore Jan Dhan accounts across the country, including nearly 33 crore accounts held by women beneficiaries. The hardest part of democracy is not disagreement, but learning to turn disagreement into progress. Democracy grows through friction, and each contest of ideas, when managed with fairness and trust, strengthens the institutions that hold a nation together. At the 5th Frontier Discourse in Abuja, organised by Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, I joined leaders, journalists, and thinkers to reflect on the politics of convergence and collision. I shared a view that holds true for every democracy: resilience is built through the ability to transform tension into progress. Nigeria’s story is still unfolding, and there is reason for optimism. Across our institutions and communities, there is a growing awareness that dialogue, inclusion, and accountability are the surest paths to national renewal. Progress is taking firmer shape, and each act of trust strengthens the foundation of our dear nation. Our responsibility now is to sustain institutions that can manage diversity with confidence and project credibility across borders. Governance, like diplomacy, thrives when anchored in principle and patience. The work of democracy continues, and it must carry every voice toward a more confident and united Nigeria. That places crypto custody and stablecoin infrastructure directly under OCC supervision, instead of fragmented state-by-state frameworks. Zoom out and the pattern is clear: • DTCC approved to tokenize DTC-custodied assets • OCC confirms banks can buy and sell crypto for clients • Stablecoins gain regulatory clarity • Now crypto trust banking goes federal One detail worth paying attention to: BitGo, now moving into the federal banking perimeter, is also a Hedera Governing Council member. That puts a federally regulated crypto custodian directly inside the governance of a public network already being used for enterprise and government use cases. At the same time, Hedera’s end-of-year community call brings together network leadership, council voices, and technical leads to discuss enterprise adoption, real-world deployments, and what scales next.
