On December 5, 1941, as the German Army abandoned its drive toward Moscow, the Red Army launched a massive counteroffensive that changed the course of the war. The first blow came from the Kalinin Front, commanded by Colonel General Ivan Konev, whose 22nd, 29th, and 31st Armies struck the exhausted German 3rd Panzer Army northwest of Moscow. The next day, General Georgy Zhukov’s Western Front joined the attack along a broad front from Klin to Serpukhov, deploying powerful formations such as the 1st Shock Army, 5th Army, 16th Army, 20th Army, and 10th Army. Simultaneously, to the south, the Bryansk Front under Lieutenant General Yakub Cherevichenko moved against German forces near Tula. For seven days, from December 5 to 12, 1941, the Red Army pressed forward relentlessly in freezing temperatures, striking exhausted and ill-equipped German divisions that had reached their limits . The Red Army advanced steadily, forcing the Wehrmacht back from Moscow’s outskirts and liberating key towns like Klin, Istra, and Kalinin. German losses during that first week of counterattacks were catastrophic: an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 killed and up to 100,000 more wounded or incapacitated by frostbite, totaling roughly 130,000 to 150,000 casualties. Several divisions, including the 6th, 7th, 258th, and 35th Infantry Divisions, were shattered beyond repair. By December 8, Hitler was forced to halt all German offensive operations, acknowledging that the drive on Moscow had failed.

The video shows the trials of the VT-1-1, a turretless tank with 2 x 105 mm guns, firing on the move at the Putlos training ground in 1976. The casemate (turretless) tank, designed for combat while moving, was introduced in Germany in the mid-1970s as a twin-gun casemate tank (the Soviet term for a "turretless tank"). For practical firing tests in the "target pass" mode, two prototypes were built in the mid-1970s. The first prototype, VT 1-1, was armed with two 105 mm guns, while the second, VT 1-2, was equipped with two 120 mm smoothbore guns. Additionally, the VT 1-2 featured a functioning autoloader behind one of the guns, with a firing rate of 10 rounds per minute. The vehicles were developed as part of the KPz 3 or Leopard 3 project. In both prototypes, the main guns were semi-fixed (with aiming and stabilization only in elevation). The chassis solutions were derived from the KPz 70 (MBT 70) program, with the running gear shortened by one road wheel (five road wheels per side). The vehicles weighed 36.8 and 43.5 tons, respectively, with a chassis rotation speed of 60 degrees per second. To achieve high maneuverability on rough terrain, 12-cylinder diesel engines from the MB 873 series with enhanced power were used, equipped with four turbochargers: 2000 hp for VT 1-1 and 2200 hp for VT 1-2. This provided an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 54 and 50 hp/ton, respectively, with acceleration to 55 km/h in 11 seconds, though only in a temporary "turbo" mode, as the standard power was 1600 hp. The accuracy of firing with two guns was unmatched by single-gun tanks, as confirmed by the tests. However, due to the novel combat approach, this revolutionary tank concept was rejected by the customer after trials in favor of the conventionally designed Leopard 2. In essence, although the project was developed as the Leopard 3, a tank for the future, it was, in reality, a parallel project and a potential competitor to the Leopard 2. Achieving the firepower, protection, and mobility of the Leopard 3 within reasonable weight limits was impossible with a conventional layout. At the same time, a significant tactical drawback of the casemate concept (including twin-gun casemate vehicles) is the linkage between the direction of fire and the direction of movement, which in many cases could complicate unit and formation control (according to German experts in the 1970s). Moreover, the VT 1-1 and VT 1-2 can hardly be considered balanced vehicles—they could have been simpler. The vehicles' mobility was exaggerated, with the main engine, transmission, auxiliary engine, batteries, and other systems occupying two-thirds of the vehicle's length. Pros and Cons of VT 1-1 and VT 1-2: Considering the key challenges, the twin-gun casemate concept can be evaluated as follows: Pros: Compact design due to a small internal volume. Two guns provide high firepower and hit probability. Cons: The weight advantage of the casemate design is largely offset by the integration of a second gun. Fire control alone results in high complexity, leading to increased maintenance costs and overall expenses. In 1975/76, five Gefechtsfeldversuchträger (GVT, combat test platforms) were developed and built for further mobility and concept trials. These were smaller than the VT 1-1 and VT 1-2, weighing 30 tons. The GVT 01-05 were equipped only with mock-up guns and laser firing simulators (TALLISSI) and telemetry systems, built using chassis components from the Leopard 1. The GVTs were used at the IABG facility in Lichtenau and the tank training school in Munster to test the twin-gun turretless tank concept in realistic exercise conditions, which is why five vehicles were built. However, the Leopard 2 was already in production, and tank crews showed little enthusiasm for this unconventional vehicle requiring a new approach.

‼️🇷🇺 THE LAST of the MAIN BATTLES of the DONBASS are coming Shortly !!!!! 🇷🇺 TOTAL LIBERATION SOON ! ▪️After the liberation of Konstantinovka, the main task of the Russian army will be to capture Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. The loss of this agglomeration by Ukraine will put an end to the liberation of the DPR and the entire Donbass. ▪️According to the latest data, Russian units are already about 10 km from the outskirts of Slavyansk. ▪️These 2 cities of Donbass are extremely important and their liberation is one of the most important goals of the Special Military Operation (SMO). ▪️Slavyansk is associated with the names of Alexei Mikhailovich, Catherine II and other Russian rulers; in the 17th century, the first state salt refinery plant appeared here. ▪️Kramatorsk is a classic city of Donbass and a center of heavy machine building; Donbass without Kramatorsk is not Donbass. ▪️During the Great Patriotic War, both cities were occupied by fascist invaders and liberated by the Red Army on September 6, 1943. ▪️In 2014, it was in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk that the struggle of Russian people for independence from the new Nazi regime in Kiev turned into a real war; this is where the war began, which, as the President notes, Russia is ending today. ▪️The enemy also recognizes the importance of the cities: on October 1, 2025, they were granted the status of Hero Cities of Ukraine. Kiev is already preparing for a possible defeat in Donbass: they are removing enterprises from Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka. ▪️Recall that the liberation of Donbass was the main declared goal of the SMO, and the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the region was a key requirement for the start of negotiations. ‼️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russian fighters unfurled the RED BANNER and the RUSSIAN flag in the north of Konstantinovka, DPR ▪️The Preobrazhenskaya Street in the northernmost part of the city has been liberated. Payback is here.. It's been discovered that the recently released NATO/American merc footage was in fact of an incident already released months ago by the Russian side of a heroic last stand at the crossroads of Pavlovka near Kupyansk during the September AFU Kharkov counter-offensive where Allied forces abandoned Izyum, Lyman, etc. Seen here: For the first time we can now present to you footage edited from both sides, Russian drones and Foreign Legion drones showing how the battle commenced where NATO forces ambushed the Allied BMP-2M at the crossroads here: 49.721065567721496, 37.70792585824342 One other thing, for those that have seen the full tape of the merc footage, one source claims that the mercs infact committed a warcrime and executed a Russian soldier who was surrendering unarmed seen somewhere at the very end of this video: Here is the source: "In the footage itself, mercenaries from the legion are involved in a shootout. And at first, as it turned out, the "Russian Special Forces", as the hirelings from the video called these fighters, were persuaded to surrender through negotiations. Only when an unarmed negotiator came out from the side of the Russians holed up in the house, he was shot by mercenaries, and after that a shootout ensued. Two mercenaries, however, managed to introduce Bandera storm, of course, the Johns pissed off and vtuplyu shot windows and threw grenades holed up in the house of the Russians. A GoPro video of one of the mercenaries shows them shooting at sound/silhouettes. So it would have gone on, but in the end the dry tank was adjusted and the house was turned not into a shelter, but into an emergency object. All the soldiers who held the defense of the house in that skirmish were killed. At least the mercenaries say so. By the way, that Finn (mercenaries are sort of like Finns), who is shouted out throughout the video by the squad leader, seems to have shot the negotiator, because in the process he is shouted something like "This is a war crime". People recognized the mercenary as an American Joshua Lopez. It was he who shot an unarmed Russian parliamentarian who went out to negotiate for surrender." Addendum: What I think likely happened is this: The American/NATO mercs mostly LARP'd and play-acted this battle. If you notice none of their actions line up with the footage of the actual battle. For instance: 1. they claim to hit the BMP with NLAW specifically in Top Kill Mode. Yet there is no top kill damage on it and they later admit it was actually disabled with a drone-nade. 2. They never once actually show the BMP from their perspective and are just shooting at "something" 3. in the drone footage of the real BMP battle, there is dead bodies near the BMP of the likely crew that tried to escape, yet when the American mercs walk up to the already destroyed BMP, there is no bodies there. 4. The Merc likely accidentally gives away the game when he says the car with the "Z" on it at the interception was "destroyed yesterday". Yeah, the entire battle likely happened yesterday including the BMP, and was done by real Ukrainian forces in the area. The NATO mercs then moved in and pretended to fire at an already destroyed BMP and created a little propaganda video out of it. 5. the BMP was on fire with bodies scattered around it yet there is no trace of smoke/fire when they move up to it and the BMP looks like it's already been sitting there for a long time. Someone is bullshitting. It looks like the American mercs in fact used stolen valor to cowardly steal the glory from an actual AFU/Ukrainian unit that destroyed the BMP the day before

The command of the Russian occupying forces has removed from his post the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy for Coastal and Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Sukhrab Akhmedov, who was awarded the title of "Hero of Russia" in the summer of 2025. Akhmedov commanded a marine infantry grouping composed of two divisions, two brigades, and a regiment that operated against Ukrainian forces on the Dobropillia axis, within the defensive sector of the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine. Earlier, the commander of Russia’s 51st Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Serhii Milchakov, another "Hero of Russia," was also relieved of his post. His units took part in attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses in the same area. Both were dismissed for a "lack of results." Large-scale infantry and mechanized assaults involving dozens of armored vehicles failed to deliver operational success and did not result in a breakthrough of Ukrainian positions. The only outcome achieved by the occupation commanders was significant losses in personnel and equipment. Since August of last year, when the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine assumed its designated defensive sector on the Dobropillia axis, the enemy has lost nearly 23,000 troops killed and wounded. Losses in heavy armor alone amount to 100 tanks and 263 armored combat vehicles. The removal of two Russian generals from their posts is an acknowledgment of the failure of the enemy’s tactics on the Dobropillia axis. But this is not only their defeat — it is also our victory. It is the result of the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine engaged in this sector of the front, who have demonstrated their effectiveness through coordinated operations and professional command leadership that developed and implemented the defensive strategy. Akhmedov and Milchakov will be replaced by other generals. However, they should immediately understand one thing: the Dobropillia axis is a place where Russian soldiers and officers are constantly being killed — and where the careers of occupation army generals come to an end. Glory to Ukraine!
