I understand what you have said about these opportunities, and I heard you specifically mention Bonga South, there is also the Okwok close to the Ebok field, and a couple of others yet to be flagged off. From what has been discussed about these projects, my understanding is that it has been in the pipeline for a long time and is now moving closer to development. My bigger concern, however, is the same concern you raised. what happens to Nigerians when these investments finally come? While I was in Nigeria, I was opportuned to visit 26 Nigerian oil and gas export facilities, including land terminals, FSOs and FPSOs. From what I observed, the representation of Nigerians in top tier technical and operational positions, particularly on deep offshore platforms, remains disappointingly low. What is even more concerning is seeing foreigners occupying positions such as crane operators, forklift operators, tank farm operators and other operational roles, I engaged aome of these foreigners in conversations and i can tell yiu, 60 percent of them did not see the four walls of a university, many cant speak english, despite the large number of qualified and unemployed Nigerians who could be trained and developed for these positions, these contracts are given to foreigners who train and bring their country men and women to the field to do these jobs. This is where government policy matters. In Europe, America and Canada, governments don't necessarily create thousands of jobs by building factories themselves. They create the conditions, policies, incentives and regulatory frameworks that make businesses invest, expand and employ people. I remember the Jonathan administration introducing policies that reportedly generated thousands of jobs, and many of those opportunities continued to exist beyond the administration that created them. That is the kind of thinking we need. Job creation is not always about government building factories or owning industries. Sometimes, it is about having intelligent policies that unlock private sector investment, enforce local content requirements, develop Nigerian technical capacity and ensure that Nigerians actually benefit from the investments happening in our own economy. Bonga South and other major projects should not just be measured by how much oil they produce or how much revenue they generate. We should also ask How many Nigerians will be trained? How many Nigerians will be employed? How many Nigerian companies will participate in the supply chain? And how many high value technical positions will Nigerians occupy? We don't just need investment. We need investment that deliberately creates opportunities for Nigerians. This is why you need a President who has a good head sitting on his shoulders to be at the helm of affairs.

Only a mad man or a hardened criminal will come and invest in a country like Nigeria where there is no rule of law.

This lady right here is one of the most intelligent ladies in our country! She is super smart and full of resource! U have a lot to benefit listening to her!

Thanks for the awareness. Now that I know this, I want to ask you and those in the CS, how we can tap into this and make money for ourselves? Especially those ones commenting 💯, ✅ and 👌. No big grammar, just talk to me. How will you make N5k out of this 50 billion usd?

Shat up. It is not ur job to be be looking out to Goverment. It is the Governments job to look out for you , its Citizens.

Belinda the brilliant witch😊. Always informative, objective and logical.

If not that I know that her contents are often great think pieces... I'd have said this sounds like reading an AI written text out loud.

I think the best policy to maximize economic returns from mining is to put a quota that a minimum of 40% of the mined raw materials is converted to finish products within the country. This would definitely drive up positive economic growth and development

the thing also is, how can a normal citizen of Nigeria, probably a graduate from university get an opportunity to work and gain our of this, without any form of connection. is it possible? or should every graduate now go and "learn a skill" after spending 8 years in school

It is the responsibility of govt when making policies like this to ensure that, first and foremost, it’ll benefit her citizens, meaning priorities should be given to indigenous companies to take a good portion of the project and investment and Nigerians professionals are employed

My question is: we have heard of investors this, investors that, they have travelled for months to woo investors, how many have actually been set up and are either building or working now... a lot of plans but with little to nothing working...

You are on point ma✅

Summary: this investment opportunity isn't open to 99% of Nigerians, Fg should be looking at what will make housing & food cheaper, not grow IGR

God bless you

It's sweet to say, so you mentioned foreign companies and foreigner being the people awarding the contract, how many Nigerian did the government send overseas to learn this skills? Or how many local companies is the government going to award the contract thereby creating jobs ?

What a bunch of nothing spewed Just talking and talking while not saying anything
