Growing up in the 90s we had a Panasonic TV. The picture would go out, it was my job to dutifully open palm the side whenever this happened. Always worked.

I had a UPS go bad at work for a critical workstation. Nothing I did got it to come back on. So I picked it up then accidentally dropped it from about 1ft. Worked for months after that.
