The couple had been fighting for years over custody of their two young daughters, Paisley and Lileigh. Meridian had accused Kody of physical abuse and gun threats during the divorce she filed in early 2024. Kody denied the allegations and claimed she was violent; there had been prior incidents, including her arrest in February 2024 for a fight in front of the kids (she said it was self-defense).
