When I first started watching his deeper cuts I was surprised to learn that one of the most disgusting sequences Tobe Hooper ever filmed was for a 90s adaptation of a Stephen King short story The Mangler about an evil industrial laundry folder starring Robert Englund & Ted Levine

I remember watching this on cable during a sleepover. Truly nasty and crazy movie

"Made me think of early Pynchon and of Neal Stephenson at his best. The most interesting novel I’ve read in a long time."

lol get folded dude, this rocks

Best part of this film is Levine being fully locked in. Treats it like he's in Seven or something

This movie is utterly BONKERS. As is the short story from King - the short is easily one of the nuttiest things he ever wrote. Forgot how gnarly the gore is in this, though. Need to re-watch.

Schlocky as hell (complimentary!) but Levine plays it so straight. It rocks. Really cruel movie

The ultimate “For Heads Only” Tobe film but only bc I think Spontaneous Combustion should be recognized as too good for such a moniker.

Days without laundry folding machine accidents: 0

Folded dude sounds like Tom Kenny.

Night Shift is so good.

I've never heard of this and am intrigued
