Many people consider Bitzero a data center company, but I buy it as a power play. I like to own the infrastructure as well as the assets. If you're gonna own Bitcoin, back then, why wouldn't you own the entity that mines Bitcoin? But really, Bitzero, has changed so much since my original investment. It's a power company. It's agnostic to who uses its power. You can mine Bitcoin, you can mine Ethereum, or you can build a data center, or build an AI compute. It doesn't matter. They're a power real estate company, and you don't have to guess the winners and losers in AI anymore. You're not going anywhere without power. All roads lead to Bitzero.

As you look through the US right now, it's really hard to find a sustainable source of power that's sub six cents a kilowatt hour, and you're talking about Bitzero that's below four cents. It's become extremely attractive, and since then it's gone public, which is great, and it's become very attractive beyond Bitcoin mining. Bitcoin mining is one of the things that it does, and it's great for free cash flow, but its real asset value is the fact it has permits, land, water, fiber, and sub six cents a kilowatt hour power. Show me anything like that, and I'll invest in it. I run around all over North America and in Europe trying to find sub six cents a kilowatt sustainable long-term power contracts.

Friends, for this Twenty-fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time, I want to focus on the first and second readings. When read together, they give us a very good sense of Catholic social teaching in regard to the question of power. The Church’s position here is a subtle one. It doesn’t demonize political and economic power; after all, God is described as all-powerful, so power can’t, in itself, be a problem. But it is very much concerned with how we use that power.

Friends, for this Twenty-fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time, I want to focus on the first and second readings. Crypto and AI all boils down to power. Everything else doesn’t matter. If you don’t have the power, you’re screwed. Half the data center announcements that you’ve heard of are never gonna get built. You heard it here first. They were all announced eighteen to twenty-four months ago, and they made the assumption that they were just gonna call up their local power authority and just attach to the grid. There’s no power left on the grid. So all of these guys that announced these data centers attached to the grid are gonna get told sorry, it’s not possible. And all those turbines are going to come onto the markets, and companies like BITZERO are gonna get them because they have the contracts for sub six cents.

Crypto and AI all boils down to power. Everything else doesn’t matter. If you don’t have the power, you’re screwed. Half the data center announcements that you’ve heard of are never gonna get built. Elon Musk explains the Kardashev Scale: "That's the most objective metric that any alien species, say, visiting us would calibrate how much progress we've made as a civilization, and one of the most objective ways to do that is the amount of power that any given civilization has been able to harness, and there was a Russian physicist, actually, who thought about this, and it's, I think, it's a good way to characterize it, which is you can have, you can assess how well a civilization is harnessing the power available on the planet, that's type I. And then type II would be how much of the star's power are you harnessing, and then type III would be how much of the galaxy's power are you harnessing. These are very objective and measurable numbers, so right now we're very low on the Kardashev I scale, like, what proportion of our planet's power are we harnessing, it's a very, very tiny number, and basically we're harnessing almost nothing of our stars' power, so the sun is truly an immense state. We don't even know how to do level III, really. AI will figure it out. One way to appreciate the size of the sun is to think about how heavy is the sun compared to all the rest of the mass in the solar system. So, the sun is about 99.86% of all mass in the solar system. It's everything, and then all the remaining 1.14% most of that is Jupiter, one planet."

A local utility company in Illinois has plans to help lower residents electrical bills They will be requiring new data centers and planned data centers to sign 10 year contracts saying they will be responsible for paying for upgrade costs and electricity usage costs “That means any new data centers would be on the hook for power upgrades and any energy they plan to use, even if the data center ends up not getting built or if they don't use as much power as planned or if they close. So if they use the power that they're applying for, then they'll pay their fair share of the cost of maintaining and building our grid through their rates”
