When I was a kid, I don’t ever remember trees exploding because of cold weather. We would have ice/snow storms that would break trees but there was no snow or ice on this tree. Is this real or is this AI?

Why were they recording a tree? Was it making weird noises before this happened? Was it smoking? Did someone place a cherry bomb in the trunk? Seems a bit sus. But what do i know.

Good call Amy. I was told the trees start making really weird noise. So maybe he heard a noise but yes, great call. It definitely looked like something exploded

Who sits there and randomly films a tree waiting for it to do that?

What does moisture do when it freezes? It expands. This isn’t hard. 🙄 Canadian here. This happens. Grow up.

Trees 100% don't explode from cold😂

Yeah, that's fake as hell. It's true that trees can split or crack in extreme cold from sap freezing and expanding, which can make a loud bang. But that's frost cracking, not a full-on explosion with a glowing hot spot like in this clip.

Not sure this is caused by the cold. Especially when it appears to have a charge placed inside that was detonated. Anyone else agree?

Looks like a explosive was used…

Now I don’t know about you, but typically on cold winter nights, you will not find me here on Twitter, catching up on what’s new … Nope. Usually I would be filming a tree out in the yard… just in case it does something crazy.

Remember, in high school and college in the 80s and 90s we were told about “spontaneous human combustion”, right!. You don’t hear much of that today. Because now we have exploding trees.!

Extreme weather shifts can cause this. Yet it is extremely rare. Matter of fact it is much more like likely to happen from cold to extreme heat. Frost cracks occur suddenly, can be several feet long, and are often accompanied by a loud rifle shot sound. They often originate at a point where the trunk has been physically injured in the past. Maples and sycamores are the most prone to frost cracks. Apples, ornamental crabapple, ash, beech, horse chestnut and tulip tree are also susceptible. Isolated trees and trees growing on poorly drained soils are particularly prone to frost cracks. Here is a common ex. of stress cracks from cold.

Yeah, when I was a kid, I don’t remember people in the middle of the night randomly recording trees either

You don’t remember them exploding because you probably never went winter camping and never read Brian’s Winter.

Yeah this is common. People have written about how in a forest there will be random gunshots or thunder going off and echoing through the trees randomly.

When you were a kid, you spent your time on Super Nintendo and drank Mountain Dew. You didn’t give a fuck about the forest, or how nature works. Nice engagement farming though…..

Yes this is real. Same thing happened last night at one of my employees house in MS. I’ve seen this before in the storm of 94 and 96 in MS. Not everything is a conspiracy.

I’m in Holland! Never has a tree exploded without someone’s kid stickin’ an M80 in it first! 👍🏻😂

Frost cracking due to very rapid freezing. Rare but does happen like this. I lived in Alaska for a few years and heard it/saw the aftermath a couple times. Doesn’t mean the vid is real though.

This is why I unfollow you @Ryanmatta… you seem to make sense and then you come out with stupid shit like this. How and why is this person focused on just this tree? For what fucken reason??

Serious question: how did that guy just happen to be outside in the freezing cold, pointing his camera at that exact tree, right before it 'exploded'? The odds are astronomical. Either he is psychic, talks to trees or this might be staged.

Yes. This happens. Lived through the ice storm of 1998 in upstate (nearly Canada) NY and yes. This happens. Makes perfect sense.

Its real. Its more common in extreme temps. The sap freezes and expands.

I live in Wisconsin and have entire my entire life and not one time have I seen one. Seems fake honestly and Plus they were already recording the tree makes this even more fishy.

Why would the government decide to test a top secret weapon on a random tree in the middle of a neighborhood in subzero temperatures? My guess is it’s just rapid changes in temperature. Look at our roads in Michigan in the spring. Tons of cracks and potholes from temp changes
