When I was younger, I loved playing with a game's developer console and just tinkering with a game's entities and systems. Thus, Gloomwood comes with one. You can use the commands to do silly stuff like "spawn 100 huntsman head giblets that periodically fall from the sky."

My brother and I figured out how to swap models between things in Deus Ex. The funniest combination was changing a flock of pigeons into LAM grenades. The LAM model the game pulled was the full Denton arm+grenade, so when you scared the pigeons there were flying hands everywhere

A small teaser of Astromeda! It's a game inspired by Pokemon, Undertale, and OneShot. Wishlist on Steam! #TrailerTuesday #indiegame #IndieGameDev #GamingNews #Steam

Omg thank you. Using the console in Half-Life was always super fun when I was young

Oh no, but at what cost? If I have to chose between raining head giblets or achievements, man, I just don't know what I'd do... Besides laughing hysterically as it rains head giblets of course.

Used to do that all the time with Unreal. Messing with the actor properties, practically editing the level itself from within the game, messing around with bots in single-player, and watching them go through the map by themselves, etc.

I've been really thankful for this. To an idiot like me, spawning large amounts of exploding barrels is endlessly entertaining.

Thank you! I'm still fond of messing with Unreal 1/UT99's console and seeing how the "Dispersion Pistol" summon shows up an Impact hammer instead.

You are a gem of a dev

THIS IS FUCKIN AWESOME !!!! BEST IDEA EVER

Ah thanks a lot, another legacy feature I need to implement now 🥲 This rules
